Our new mystery kit theme just dropped: Beneath the Alaskan Sky!🎉

I really enjoy painting the northern lights, mostly because they involve some of my favourite colours all at once. Pink and purple and aqua, all washing into each other across a sky. And we have actually seen them from our house a few times, which I still cannot quite believe!

So I gave some of these stickers the biggest sky I could think of and created a whole world underneath! Snowy spruce forests and sketched mountain ranges, a glacier breaking apart into still water, humpback whales and an orca, a bald eagle over the treeline, wolves running a sled team, a red fox in the snow, a little cabin with the lights on, sheep up on a ridge, and an arctic fox watching the water.

It's a winter world, but soft and dreamy rather than icy, all blush pink and aqua and lilac against the snow, and I am so happy with how it turned out.

If you love big skies, snowy landscapes, and animals in the wild, this one is for you!

🦇✨ My first Dutch door spread is officially complete, and I’m so proud of how it turned out! This was easily one of the most fun layouts I’ve ever made in my bullet journal.

If you’ve never made a Dutch door before, it’s when you trim or fold parts of your journal pages to create flaps or layers. It’s such a fun way to add movement, extra space, and dimension to your layouts.

What I learned:
📓 Make sure your paper is around 160 gsm so it holds up well when cutting or layering (mine is a little flimsy)
⏰ Give yourself time, because this isn’t a quick layout, but it’s worth every minute.

This little bat friend might just be my favourite creation so far. 🖤

My October cover page is done, and I am so happy with it! I love Halloween for this exact reason; you get to go bright and dark on the same page. All these hot pinks and teals and purples sitting right on top of black have such a beautiful contrast, and I could use colours like this all day!

I coloured in the jumbo October month letters with my Tombows and let the colours bleed into each other, and then I made the bat pattern for the background myself. It was so fun seeing it printed out and tucked in behind everything.

I am so excited about October this year! From January right through to the middle of September, I had so much on my plate, and I definitely took on too much, and by August I was completely burnt out. So turning the page into this month feels really, really good. My energy is back, I have time to catch up in the shop, and I even get a little time for myself, which does not happen very often.

This is one of my October pages, with a bat pattern paper I made myself, some cardstock, and the Haunted in Bloom stickers. Welcome to my haunted little garden!

I am so ready to celebrate October and Halloween.

I made a little interactive book tracker for October, and I am so pleased with how this one came out! The ghost slides along the path, so every time you finish a book, you move her up to the next stop. Book one, book two, book three or however many you're aiming to read in a month. And, I will say that it's so satisfying to actually move her.

The making of this spread was simpler than it looks. I designed the polka dot pattern in Illustrator and printed that off along with a coordinating pink sheet, then used my gyro cutter to cut the curved path right into the page. The ghost is attached to a little piece of cardstock folded into a Z shape, which is what lets her sit up and slide along. Then I decorated the right side, and that was it!

Here is everything I came home with from PlannerCon, and I mean everything!!! The swag bag, all the fairy drops that showed up throughout the weekend, and the things I could not resist buying while I was there. I have been slowly going through it all since I got back, and I cannot wait to begin using all of these amazing stationery products.

Stickers, vinyl die cuts, pens, sticky note pads, journals. So much beautiful stationery in one pile, and I'm so very grateful for everyone who made this event possible!

The fairy drops were such a fun part of the weekend, too. You just turn around, and there is something new sitting there for you to play with!

THANK YOU so much to all of the sponsors who put this together. The generosity at this conference is something else, and I am so grateful for every single piece of it. Below is a list of all the swag and fairy drop sponsors so you can go check them out! 🩷

I had the pleasure of sitting at the @ArcherandOlive table at @PlannerCon.eh this weekend, and I am still a little bit giddy about it. They definitely spoiled us, so I wanted to show you everything properly because it deserves a good look.

I can't stop picking up the journal! It's undated, and the paper is 160 gsm ultra thick, which I absolutely LOVE! That weight will take watercolour without buckling or bleeding through, so I can be as heavy-handed with the colour as I want, and I fully intend to be. I have been turning over what to do with it ever since I got home, and I still have not decided. It feels like the kind of journal you want to have a plan for first because it's so special.

Then there is the gold-foiled washi, which is so pretty! They also included monthly tabs to make organizing the journal easier, which I will absolutely be using. And, they even included a whole stack of stickers tucked into the cutest clear pencil case. And scrapbook papers on top of all that.

What a weekend, and what a table to get to sit at. So grateful!

We rode out to Alexander Circle in Glenora, which has one of my very favourite fountains in the city. It is such a pretty spot, and the fountain sits right in the middle of this stunning roundabout surrounded by gorgeous old homes and tall trees.

I looked it up afterward, and it turns out it went in back in 1954, paid for by the families who actually lived around the circle. The man who got it going had been to Paris and came home wanting a fountain for his neighbourhood. Which I love. Somebody saw something beautiful on a trip and just decided their neighbourhood should have one, too.

Then we carried on down the High Level Bridge into downtown, which is so much fun on a scooter.

I had the best time making this spread. All those blues and greens together, and the vellum from my Boo Bash subscription kit layered over top. I am actually thinking about adding these paper sheets to the shop as printables, so let me know if that is something you would want.

We made a proper day of this one. Started with lunch on Whyte Ave, which is basically my favourite way to begin our scooter days, then had pastries and coffees and lunch, and then went out to the river valley and along Victoria Park Road. 29 km in total and just over two hours out on the scooters, and it was such a sunny day. Big beautiful clouds moving across all that blue sky, everything still so green, and that warm air you get on a really good August afternoon.

I have figured out that I love the longer rides so much more. When we only go out for an hour, part of me is already sad the whole time because I know it is almost over, and that sadness sits right on top of the fun and is such a distraction. But on a longer ride, that feeling never gets a chance to start. I settle in, I stop counting, and I am just completely there enjoying it. This one was exactly that from start to finish.

And the photos! The light was so good that I got some I really love, which is wonderful for my memory planning. Those clouds did a lot of the work for me, though!

Such a good day, and I can't wait to do it again!

I saw this dutch door journaling edge trend going around and thought I would finally give it a go. The usual version uses dried or pressed flowers, and I did not have a single one on hand, so I improvised and used stickers instead, flipping them so they show through on both sides of the edge and still line up whichever way it folds. And then I added glitter, because why not?

It came out so pretty and it barely took any time, which is my favourite kind of project. If you have been wanting to try it too, this is such a fun one!

My photo printer only ever prints portrait, so lately I have been putting my photos on sticker paper instead and cutting them into different shapes just to change things up. I made one into a circle, and I really like it. It is a nice little change from the usual, and it was a fun thing to try.

And the beach! I love the beach so much, probably more than makes sense for someone who lives nowhere near one, so I got to have some proper play here. I painted watercolour splashes under the right side of the page and let the wave stickers come tumbling into them, and it was so satisfying. The little arrows on the left are from my stamps, which I always forget I have and then adore the second I pull them out.

This memory planning page is from an August love ride out with hubby to Queen Elizabeth Park, and it was such a fun day!

There is a modern house on the edge of Terwillegar Drive that I have loved for years. We have driven past it a million times, and I always crane my neck to look, because it is the only house around there that looks like that. All white, very clean lines, a balcony right on the roof. In a neighbourhood where nothing else looks remotely like it, it sticks out completely, and that is exactly the thing I love about it.

I had only ever seen it from the road, though. Never the front, never up close, just quick glimpses from a moving car for years.

So on one of our scooter rides, hubby had a surprise planned and steered us toward it without saying anything. I did not clue in at all until we turned a corner and there it was, the front of it, right in front of me. He had gone and figured out exactly where it was so he could bring me to it, just because he knew I had always wanted to see it properly. I stood there taking in the whole front of it, the part I had wondered about for years, and it was even better up close.

It was such a special and thoughtful surprise, so I definitely had to add this to my happy moments memory journal.
