This summer, RIOS welcomed emerging designers across architecture, landscape architecture, interior design, experience design, sustainability, and marketing to our Los Angeles, Austin, and London offices. ⁠

Our summer interns dove into life at RIOS, bringing fresh perspectives to project work and research, and getting involved in everything from site visits and photoshoots to vendor workshops, ping pong, and softball games.⁠

Interns across disciplines collaborated on a research project exploring a central question: How can the public library evolve as a civic space for learning, gathering, creating, and community? Their research led to two design schemes: A Living Studio and The Trail.⁠

A Living Studio reimagines the library as a place for producing and exchanging knowledge, with flexible spaces for making, collaboration, exhibitions, and civic life.⁠

The Trail organizes the library as a continuous journey from active gathering spaces to quieter places for reading and reflection, connecting architecture and landscape from city to mountain.⁠

Thank you to everyone that joined us for the ‘MEXICAN ADULT’ group show at Apartamento 17. I don’t have enough words to express the immense joy and gratitude I feel towards everyone that participated and supported the show. It was a beautiful day to be Mexican. Los quiero un chingo!!

My turn to say this is the end of a chapter, every single person pictured here in this post will forever and always hold a special place in my heart for the impact you've had in my life.

And to think I almost gave up at some point. This experience has shown me that I am capable of anything I set my mind to, and that is all thanks to you all. I wouldn't be where I am today without the support of my cohort, my friends, my family, and especially my partner ♥️. I am truly blessed to have been surrounded by such talented, passionate, and inspiring designers and just the most supportive partner I could've ever asked for 🫶.

I am happy and proud of where I stand at the end of this chapter along with the rest of my cohort, I cant wait to see what the future has in store for us, this isn't goodbye this is just see ya later, but I will miss seeing you guys on the regular, let's go kick some ass 😎🤘
