“Wait for me guys”

If you’ve missed the saga- Wayne and Ella knew each other but Ella is bossy and Wayne wouldn’t stand his ground. So Ella knocked Wayne around a time or two - we had to separate them, but you just wait… in comes donkey AKA POPEYE- Popeye has his name for a reason. From birth he was given that name and I could not change it. He’s done what he needed to do.

At first, he would try to take Ella‘s food. He would definitely get away with it, but she wouldn’t like it. Overtime, I started noticing that she was scooting her food closer and closer to him. Mind you, he is not in a stall with her, he would reach in through the panels and take her food. But overtime, he didn’t need to reach any longer because slowly, and surely she would scoot it closer and closer to him.

As time went on, I started realizing that they had become closer to a point where I could trust the relationship better, Wayne started telling Ella what she couldn’t get away with, and Ella softened to Popeye. As time has gone on, I trusted letting them out together (without kicking eachother) and it has been absolutely beautiful. I couldn’t have been on a trail ride with all three before and definitely not having Wayne and Ella this close together. It has been the coolest experience to watch transform.

Ella has softened, Wayne has strengthened, and Popeye has brought them both together even more.

When my brother brought Ella to me, I definitely did not see this being the case with how this would end. I’m very grateful that we’ve got to have Ella for this short time. She is my brother’s horse. When he brought her to me to “babysit” her- I thought he was out of his mind, but it has been such a beautiful journey, and Ella has changed so much. And so have the rest of us.

Horses can teach you so much if you let them. It’s important to let them speak, but also important to set your boundaries too. Just like these three- they all had to set their own boundaries, be their own kind of strong, but they all learned to respect and love one another.
I’m going to miss not having Ella here, but I know she has big things to do somewhere else with my brother!

The best kind of people in our lives are the ones that just make us all step it up a notch!

Send this to your bestie who takes it next level with you🙌🏻

Meet my little Bro! 9 years younger than me- but if you ask me, I’m the one that taught him everything he knows 🤣

He’s been the man behind getting me all squared away with my horse - hauled him to me- and helped me get everything set up

@sladewitbeck and @witbeckperformancehorses - absolutely crushing it!

Oh man… yesterday was one for the books for my sweet girl, Tessa. ❤️

In one day she got her braces off, competed with Hook for the first time, and made memories we’ll never forget.

She made it back to her very first short round as 2nd high call. Then she came back with confidence, stayed aggressive, made her best run of the day, and finished the course. Thank you Austin for being such a great roping partner and getting a Win.

To top it all off, she won her very first roping and her very first saddle. 🥹 There are moments as a parent that you wish you could bottle up forever, and this is definitely one of them.

Watching her put in the work, overcome nerves, and trust her horse made today absolutely priceless. I couldn’t be more proud of the little cowgirl she’s becoming.

A huge thank you to Leslie and Andrew for putting on such an incredible roping. That short round was no joke, and it was filled with some amazing roping and even better camaraderie. We are so thankful for all the people who make this sport such a special place for our kids to learn, compete, and grow.

Congratulations, Tessa. Your hard work paid off, and this is just the beginning. We love you so much! 🤍🐴🏆
