Live Brave Recap & Giving Announcement 🖤

What a day. What a community. What a year for Live Brave! The 6th Annual Live Brave 5K + 1 Mile Run back on August 8th was another incredible day of moving, racing, cheering and showing up for a cause that matters.

And you guys SHOWED UP. 🙌🏼
- 363 registered participants
- 346 showed up to race or walk — a 95.3% participation rate!
- Ages 3 to 92
- 30% of participants were under 18
- Racers came from Minnesota, Iowa, Colorado, Florida, Idaho, New Jersey and even Chile!
- 9 Minnesota age-group state records were broken in the 1 Mile
- 19 teams came together to race as groups (making their own shirts too!)

From families and friends to coworkers, competitive runners, first-timers and everyone in between, Live Brave brought people together from all walks of life. Guys, that’s what makes this event so special. It’s not just about the miles, the finish times or the medals. It’s about coming together, moving our bodies and using this little race to make a much bigger impact.

And now we get to share the BEST part…🙏🏼

Through the 2026 Live Brave 5K and 1 Mile events, along with additional grants and donations, we’re proud to announce that we are donating $25,000 to WithAll—a $4,000 increase over 2025! 🎉

This gift directly supports eating disorder prevention and recovery efforts, helping more families, individuals, educators and young people find hope, healing and the tools to thrive.

From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU to every runner, volunteer, sponsor, donor and supporter who helped make this year’s race so special. You are the reason Live Brave continues to grow and make a difference, and we are forever grateful. ❤️

Let’s keep this momentum going! Mark your calendars for August 14, 2027, and join us as we continue to run, walk and Live Brave together. Interested in sponsoring or volunteering for next year’s event? Shoot us a DM! We’d love to hear from you!

this weekend in msp running. gopher to badger runs on saturday, but it doesn't reach the badger. construction on the i-94 bridge closed the walkway, so the half, 10k and 5k all loop around the washington county fairgrounds and stay in minnesota. the border crossing comes back in 2027.

the rest of saturday is full: summer sizzler at lake elmo park at 8 with everything from a mile to 15k, live brave 5k at colby lake park in woodbury at 8:30, pioneer day 5k at pioneer park in newport at 9:30, and a breath of hope lung run/walk at the lake harriet bandshell at 9:50.

if you'd rather not pay for a bib, all four parkruns go at 9am as usual, and four group runs take anyone who shows up saturday morning — mill city's assisted long run from highland at 7, club run at 7, capital city runners at 7 in highland park, and runwest at 7:30 from the lakes running co in excelsior.

sunday is quiet on the race calendar. the ywca women's triathlon has lake nokomis from 8:10, so the paths around there will be busy.

85 and sunny both days. go run.

Awareness changes lives.

It starts conversations.
It helps people feel less alone.
It connects families to resources.
It makes recovery possible.

That’s why we run.

With 9 days until Live Brave, there’s still time to register, donate, or invite someone to join you.
Because this race isn’t just for those directly affected by eating disorders—it’s for everyone who believes no one should struggle alone.

Let’s show up. Together. ❤️

Only 14 days until race day! 🙌

Join hundreds of runners, walkers, families, and friends for a morning that’s equal parts fun, competitive, inspiring, and impactful.

The truth is, eating disorders impact more families than most people realize. That’s why this race is for everyone.🙏🏼

We’ll save you a spot at the starting line... but only if you register first. 😉
