Lang leve wol.

Afgelopen week openden we bij The Knitwit Stable voor het eerst het Nederlandse Wolseizoen.

Met wind, een beetje regen en vooral heel veel fijne mensen om ons heen werd het een middag om niet snel te vergeten.

Na jaren werken aan Nederlandse wol was het bijzonder om dit moment samen te vieren - met het hijsen van de wolvlag, de presentatie van Dutch Wool Premium en de onthulling van onze nieuwe FW26 collectie

Een collectie volledig geworteld in Nederlandse wol. Van de wol van Nederlandse schapen tot zorgvuldig ontworpen en gemaakte kledingstukken die laten zien wat er mogelijk is met deze lokale, natuurlijke grondstof.

Dank aan iedereen die naar Baambrugge kwam en dit moment met ons vierde.

De eerste Opening van het Nederlandse Wolseizoen - en wat ons betreft zeker niet de laatste.

Het wolseizoen is geopend.
De vlag is gehesen.

Gister ging in Baambrugge voor het eerst de wolvlag omhoog.
Daarmee markeren we de allereerste Opening van het Nederlandse Wolseizoen.
Een nieuw jaarlijks moment voor Nederlandse wol,
de makers en de kleding die we ervan maken.

Wol heeft van nature een ritme. Schapen bouwen ieder jaar een nieuwe vacht op. Die wordt geschoren, verzameld en stap voor stap verwerkt tot garen en uiteindelijk tot een product. Een proces dat tijd nodig heeft.

En als de dagen weer kouder worden,
begint het seizoen waarin we wol weer volop dragen.

On another note, not that you asked, but I’m turning 29 this week 🙃. Freaking out. But also not. Thankful for life. For God. For his grace, his love, his kindness. What a King. What a Savior.

I often feel like I’m stumbling through life. Little human designed by a perfect God trying to navigate this world and this life. I will forever choose being my broken self in his presence rather than pretending to perfection far from him. When I am weak he is strong. How kind is he, to provide a safe space for us in the midst of our many deficiencies.

I need a savior, I depend on him. This is the best place to be at. He is the best Leader, the perfect Father, an ever-loving Savior. My way will always fall short next to his, and it’s perfect this way. I will gladly spend my life learning to yield every part of myself to Him.

He is so worth it. The only one worthy.

‘Therefore, I will all the more gladly boast in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me.’
