Recently I shared this exercise on my personal page. It resonated with quite a few people so I decided to turn it into a post.

I love sharing reflections and exercises that have been helpful for me in my own personal development. This is one of my favorites.

What if we could see ourselves through the same lens as the people who love us most? What would we notice? What might be transformed?

ID: Slide 1- A tangerine color background with magenta font in a spiral pattern that says “See yourself through the eyes of the people who love you” In the right corner is a spiral pattern in tan, pink, and mint colors

ID Slide 2: Tangerine colored background with a search bar in the center that says “an exercise in love” Beneath the search bar it reads: Ask someone who loves you to share 2-3 qualities that they admire and appreciate about you.
Listen. Receive. Believe.
Choose to see yourself the way that they see you.
Notice what changes.

I have been reflecting a lot on what it means to trust self. We all have so much inner wisdom and often search outside of ourselves for the answers we already know. While building With Space Between, it’s important to support my clients to feel confident in their own wisdom. While I often offer suggestions when coaching, I believe it’s more important to offer thoughtful questions that support my clients in finding their own answers.

Here is a short reflection exercise to support you in identifying areas of your life that you might be seeking external validation. Where are there opportunities to trust your own wisdom?

ID: Slide 1- A mint colored circular shape against a cream background. Within the circle it says bolded “Everything you are seeking is already within you.” Speed throughout the circle are the words purpose, meaning, joy, presence, belonging, connection

A Reflection on Inner Knowing
Think of the last month.
What is something you have found yourself
"searching for"?
Write 3 places where you've been seeking this. (It might be a physical place, a person, or a thing).
Ask yourself:
How many of these places exist outside of me? Where are there areas I can offer this to myself? How do I want to reclaim this?
Write a commitment to yourself. Place it in your mirror. Slide 1- A mint colored circular shape against a cream background. Within the circle it says bolded “Everything you are seeking is already within you.” Speed throughout the circle are the words purpose, meaning, joy, presence, belonging, connection
