Given the worsening sociopolitical climate and its direct impact on mental health, the MHIC’s approach to mental health crises should be shifting towards understanding individuals’ distress within a systemic context, but it’s not. This is why we can’t rely on the psychiatric system to remedy the mental health crisis. It has too much to lose if it were to abandon the biomedical model which allows them to profit while blaming individuals and their biological makeup for their distress. #psychabolition #depression #anxiety #mentalillness #mentalhealth #mentalhealthawareness

Happening tomorrow!! Arise for Social Justice executive director, Tanisha Arena, shares why kinship is important to her: “Living in kinship mind has taught me a valuable lesson that I hold dear - the people who love you will want you to be more and not less; that there is room for it all, to be held lovingly, tenderly, even when it requires accountability. Living in kinship mind has been transformational. Our friendships are based in truth, we do the hard things, and we do them together with laughter and love.” Learn how to practice kinship mind across race tomorrow, Wednesday Sept. 17, from 6:30 - 7:30 PM ET via Zoom. Recording will be available for all registrants! Pay what you can (yes, even $1 counts) Go to any of our profile bios to find the registration link!

#MujeresImparables #UnstoppableWomen #ElPoderEnTi #QueNadaTeDetenga #JuntosImparables #saludmentalyemocional #saludcomunitaria #bienestaremocional @Telemundo @estoyaquiwithysabel
