Meet the artist @wobble.studio Wobble Studio is the world of multidisciplinary artist Chelsea Humado. Colourful, surreal and playful illustrations shaped by West African motifs, Pop Art and her heritage as a Black woman, reclaiming old racist caricatures and turning them into something of her own. To be wobbly is to be yourself without hiding the ugly bits. Paint without neatening the edges. Let go. #streetersgallery #theholyartgallery #londonartexhibition #emergingartists #londonart

Meet @wobble.studio Chelsea of Wobble Studio is an artist working in oil pastel on fabric. For Windows into the Unseen, she explores body image and autonomy in I Hold My Folds, a triptych in which she holds her own skin tenderly, capturing every ripple, stretch mark and scar. Windows into the Unseen is a month-long exhibition where 16 women activist artists transform @deptfordlounge windows into sites of visibility, reflection and dialogue. It brings hidden and normalised forms of violence against women and girls into public view, while amplifying stories of resilience, survival and empowerment through collective care and action. Join us at Deptford Lounge from 16 November to 12 December. Help make it happen 💛 We are bringing this project to life with your support as we did not receive public funding. The Sheroes team and every artist in the show are dedicated to making this project happen, and your donations will help this and future exhibitions. Every contribution, no matter how small, makes a difference. Join the fight and be part of our mission to end violence against women and girls. Meet the artist... Chelsea Humado🌟 Chelsea shares a bit about her practice, along with some moments and outcomes from her time as a Liverpool Biennial x SEVENSTORE bursary artist! Chelsea ran a workshop inspired by her ‘Wiggly Lines for Wobbly Minds’ card game, a game that gives you abstract phrases, to help you engage with your cultural identity and emotional profile. The workshops were a place for people to be silly and messy, and create work that doesn’t have an expectation to be perfect. Chelsea has now used the illustrations created by the participants to create a tapestry, and exhibited alongside the ‘Wiggly Lines for Wobbly Minds’. All three Liverpool Biennial x SEVENSTORE bursary artists are exhibiting downstairs at @sevenstorehq, be sure to go visit their works while you can! - [Alt-text: The artist Chelsea Humado talking to camera in her room, there are snippets of her illustrations, moments in workshops, inspirations and her colourful tapestry exhibited at Sevenstore.]

The Artist Roadshow with Liverpool Biennial Childhood is where our relationship with the world begins. It is a time of curiosity and discovery, when ordinary objects become treasures, familiar places become playgrounds, and the freedom to experiment comes without the fear of getting things wrong. Those early experiences can stay with us long after childhood has passed, shaping how we see ourselves, our communities, and the world around us. Meaning is found in the most unexpected of places, while personal nuances and interests naturally blossom. For the artists featured in the upcoming 2027 edition of the Liverpool Biennial, these instincts serve as a starting point for an artistic exploration of memory, identity, community and the ways our earliest experiences continue to shape us well into adulthood. Taking place across Liverpool from 5 June to 12 September 2027, the 14th edition of Liverpool Biennial will be co-curated by Lucía Sanromán and Aimee Harrison, grounded in the experiences of children and young people in Liverpool and around the world. From Barnard’s sound walks and multisensory sculptures, which draw on childhood collections and memories of the Merseyside coastline, to Humado’s exploration of art as a form of emotional expression and relief for young people, and Venables’ collaborative experiments in glassmaking with her five-year-old, each project approaches childhood from a distinctly personal perspective. Yet across all three is a shared belief in the value of play, curiosity and making without limitation. Across each of their distinct practices, the past becomes a point of rediscovery. As Liverpool Biennial prepares for its 2027 edition, the three artists supported through the 2026 SEVENSTORE bursaries join The Artist Roadshow to share the experiences that have shaped their practices, the memories and materials that continue to inspire them, and what the theme of childhood and youth means to them.
