Smile anyways - Hyrox Boston 13th overall

What a blessing it is. Thank you Jesus.

Last Thursday and Friday I couldn’t walk. I knew it would take a ton for me to be able to race a week later. But God! I had 4-5 encounters with PTs, doctors, and chiros in the last week that feel like they fell out of the sky and somehow I was able to race. I have a terrible history of left ankle sprains, fractures, and ligament tears - so I was pretty confident that I would be chalked this week. I’m extremely grateful that I got to compete.

It was a suffer fest. I got demolished on the sleds. And just didn’t have the pop in my left leg on the runs. But I had an incredible time, met incredible people, and got to hangout in an incredible city.

The PR streak ends. But the smile streak continues.

Mixed doubles today with @kendallalyn at 1:10pm.

Onward.

Keep going.

Get it in.

Fitted in @asrv per usual

I am very fortunate to have completed my 6th TTG event not only surrounded by good friends, but with new ones made along the way. Say what you will about tactical sports, but I don’t think you can knock the community created by these athletes.

I wound up spending the weekend chasing @woddoc as usual and finishing as “1st place loser” (as @innoveda puts it) but what a fight for the podium we had in the Junior Old Guy division - I couldn’t have asked for a better push to perform during day 2.

Super proud of @sherzog_22 for her Women’s Tac win - she has made so much progress in the last year and it’s been awesome to watch her crush it.

Of course, huge thanks is due to @thetacticalgames, the volunteers, @shctrainingfacility for providing a fantastic venue for the competition, and the main event sponsor @leupoldoptics.

A nod as well to Coach @themattgilpin with @trainingthinktank for helping me prepare physically for the demands of the sport and maximizing my functionality as a semi-broken master’s athlete.
