There’s a reason the walls were painted white. 🇬🇭
Our voyage to Africa traced same routes of the Trans-Atlantic slave trade a few hundred years ago. I learned more from my peers and guides than I ever did in school or university. I crossed paths with descendants of survivors and graves scattered in the waves. Some stories are not mine to tell. 🛳
But then there’s this: I came to the Ghana Slave Castles to learn with a group of classmates. Some of them showed up high. Some took smiling selfies as our guide spoke about genocide and racial injustice. One even opened a sandwich and ate it as we walked through the dungeons, walking past the same chains that kept Native Black bodies starved and tortured. There’s more, but this happened in a historical site, committed by Allies with every educational resource at their feet. ✊🏽
This world is not coming to a “new” conclusion. Ignorance has always been a willful exit strategy. There’s a reason the walls were painted white.

I keep trying to put words to my feelings, but it seems impossible. Moriah was one of my first friends and was never anything but kind, bright, and stubbornly determined. This determination led her to do amazing things in life, including recent success in her budding gravel racing career. Although the physical feats and all of the podiums are impressive, Moriah was much more than an athlete. She always shared her kindness and joy with those lucky enough to have known her, and that’s what I’ll remember most about her. We cannot bring her back, but we can channel her every day, and will get through this together.❤️

Olympic Trials!! What an experience it was! Despite all the craziness I was able to find everything I needed and compete in an amazing competition.

After @feelfinnair lost all my bags I was worried I wouldn’t be able to compete, but thanks to the generosity of the jumping community I was able to hobble together what I needed. I would like to extend a huge thank you to @cdelaneync @ronen_woods @deckerdean @niklas.malacinski @tate_frantzz @jared_shumate @grant_andrews_ and everyone else I borrowed gear from. 🤝🤝

I also want to thank everyone who wished me luck before the comp and the organizers and coaches who made this event happen. Lastly, I want to thank my family for coming to cheer me on and supporting me!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸

Congratulations @tfletchernordic on the win and good luck in Beijing! Time for a little holiday break then back to training 🎅🏻🎅🏻

I did not realize how much I was in need of community and connection until I spent a week with this incredible group of people. Every single one of you is a gorgeous shining star inside and out and each of you helped to reignite the fire in my soul. Yoga is such a special thing to share and I truly feel tethered to each of your hearts. Thank you for holding the space for me to grow and heal just as I did for you. I love you endlessly and cannot wait for Spain 2025!! 🙏🏻🩷🥹🌋🏝️✨
