Our scholars were ELECTRIC at GTE Academy! 🤪🤪

We loved seeing our students light up—literally and figuratively—during our hands-on Electricity & Circuits STEM Lab with Wonder Boxed!

Throughout this experience, our scholars walked away with more than just a fun STEM activity. They learned how to:

🔌 Build and complete a circuit and understand what makes electricity flow
⚡ Identify conductors and insulators and test which materials allow electricity to pass through
💡 Problem-solve when a circuit didn’t work and make adjustments to find a solution
🧠 Make predictions, test ideas, and observe results like real scientists
✨ Understand static electricity and explore how electrical energy behaves
🤝 Collaborate and communicate while working through hands-on challenges with their peers

Most importantly, our scholars experienced that science isn’t just something you read about—it’s something you can build, test, explore, and understand for yourself.

A huge thank-you to Wonder Boxed for creating an engaging STEM experience that encouraged our scholars to be curious, think critically, and get excited about how the world works!

Since the moment we decided to expand into our own location, we envisioned Start Bright as more than just a place for academics. ⭐️

We wanted our doors to be open to experiences, people, and opportunities that can positively impact our children’s lives in meaningful and genuine ways. 💛

Our Enrichment Partners are part of that vision—giving our students opportunities to explore, create, connect, build confidence, and discover new interests beyond the classroom.

Here’s a look at what’s coming up! Who can you find at our facilities? ✨📚

✨ Kitchen Science ✨

The girls had an amazing time with the Wonder Boxed Team at their pop up activity day in Plantation. So many super cool STEM activities using items that can be found right in your kitchen.

Thank you so much for having us @labellemarieanne ✨🥰

Mad Scientist Day 🧪

Yesterday our “mad scientists” got hands-on with real chemistry, courtesy of a special visit from Mrs. Marie with @wonder.boxed 🙏🏽 Four experiments, four states of wonder:

❄️ Fake snow — baking soda + hair conditioner
🎈 A self-inflating balloon — baking soda + vinegar
🌋 A DIY lava lamp — oil, water & food coloring
🥛 “Magic milk” — milk, food coloring, dish soap & cotton swabs

Beyond the fun, students learned why scientists experiment and reviewed the three states of matter — solid, liquid, and gas. Curiosity + hands-on discovery = learning that sticks.

A few seats are still open for this school year — DM us to schedule a tour!

🚨 BIG NEWS, GTE FAMILY 🚨

We are PROUDLY partnering with wonder.boxed — and they’re bringing their after-school program right here to GTE Academy. 🧪⚙️🔬

Here’s who they are: Wonder Boxed is a Central Florida STEM program that turns learning into an adventure — hands-on science, technology, engineering and math stations that spark curiosity, creativity and critical thinking. Small groups. Interactive. Built for elementary learners. No worksheets. No busy work. Actual building, testing, problem-solving. 🙌🏾

Here’s what it means for OUR 3rd–5th graders:
✅ STEM enrichment after school hours — on campus, no extra drive for you
✅ Small-group, hands-on stations (they rotate, they build, they figure it out)
✅ Exposure to engineering + tech skills EARLY, not in high school when it’s a scramble
✅ A safe, supervised, purpose-filled after-school hour instead of a screen 📵

We’ve always said GTE is more than academics and more than athletics. We’re raising problem-solvers. Innovators. Young people who know how to think. This partnership is another door God opened right on time. 🙏🏾

Grades 3–5. Spots are limited because small groups are the whole point. 👀

Impact grows when the right people are sought out🤝✨

Recently, EPIC Founder AJ Donaldson connected with Marie Bestman of Wonder Boxed, an organization that creates hands-on STEM opportunities🔬 that help students explore possibilities beyond the classroom.

Introduced through a shared connection HopeUnited, it quickly became clear that our missions align: creating meaningful exposure, #mentorship, and opportunities that help young people discover what’s possible for their future🚀

As EPIC continues to identify and support small but mighty organizations making a difference in our communities, we’re also exploring how strategic partnerships can help nonprofits 📈scale their impact, 💡think sustainably, and 🧭create stronger pathways for the students they serve.

School is only part of the equation. The experiences students have beyond the classroom often shape what they believe is possible.

🤍🚌 Building Stronger Communities Together 🚌🤍

Today, On Time With Care Transport had the pleasure of partnering with Wonder Boxed STEM Education Inc. to help transport their amazing campers and staff.

There is something truly special about organizations coming together with one shared mission: creating positive experiences and opportunities for children in our community. Seeing so many smiles today was a beautiful reminder of the impact we can make when we work together.

We are grateful for the opportunity to support programs that inspire, educate, and empower the next generation. Thank you, Wonder Boxed STEM Education Inc., for trusting us to be part of your campers’ adventure.

Together, we’re creating memories, building brighter futures, and making a difference—one child at a time. ☀️✨🤍

🌈 Milk turned into a moving rainbow… and the kids couldn’t believe it.

All it took was milk, food coloring, and dish soap to create a mesmerizing Rainbow Milk science experiment right in the kitchen.

When the soap touches the milk, it breaks apart the fat molecules, causing the colors to swirl, race, and dance across the surface. What looks like impossible is actually chemistry in action.

This is the kind of hands-on STEM learning children remember:
✨ simple materials
✨ colorful reactions
✨ curiosity-driven learning
✨ science you can SEE

🧪Perfect for homeschool activities, classroom science, spring break activities or screen-free learning at home.

💌 Save this easy science experiment for kids and try it with your little scientists this week! 👩🏾‍🔬👨🏽‍🔬
