POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Just popping on here to say we stan Sally Rooney on our accounts. Not only is she vocal about speaking up against what is happening in the world, she writes some damn good books. Intermezzo has been one of @mkm_library favorite reads of all time and @woodrecommend is excited to dive further into their Sally journey.

Please go out and buy a Rooney book this weekend if you're looking for something new to read.

Oh and Fuck Trump, Free Palestine, Fuck AI, Reading is Political, Release the Epstein Files, and for godsake read some Non-Fiction

The Cages We Endure: An Anthology
Out now!

@gravebelles thank you so much for getting all these authors together for this horror anthology because we needed a new feminine rage read for October 🔪

@woodrecommend and I had a blast buddy reading this one and Gossamer and Deadline came out as clear winners for our favorite stories. (not that shocking for me since @a.l.sterling has fast become one of my favorite authors and I needed 200 more pages of Deadline immediately)
As avid AI haters we both weren't fans of the two stories that involved AI systems 😅 but overall the stories were killer (see what I did there)
We cannot wait to see what else this Press puts out in the future!
These stories were also written by female and nonbinary authors, so please if you need a little dose of feminine rage and murder and vengeance, please go purchase a copy to read today 🧡

Confessions tag 📚 s/o to @natreadsfantasy for the tag (although it was a while ago oops).

Happy Fall my friends, I’m feeling so autumnal the last few days with the crisp weather and I am loving it! 🤎 I’m in a bit of a book hangover/mourning period after finishing Dead Beat, I’m having a hard time jumping into reading…. because if you’re not Alex or Darlington I don’t care 🫠

🤎 Books I swear I’ll read next:
- Milkteeth by Caitlin Starling
- Slashed Beauties by A. Rushby
- The Resurrectionist by A. Rae Dunlap

🤎 Books I’m saving for the right mood:
- Pay the Piper by Daniel Kraus & George A. Romero
- The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson
- The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova

🤎 Books I’m scared won’t live up to the hype:
- Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo
- A Treachery of Swans by A. B. Poranek
- Katabasis by R.F. Kuang

🤎 Books people have recommended to me:
- Perfume by Patrick Süskind (looking at u @gaba.inthelibrary and @bookcravt )
- Asunder by Kerstin Hall ( @voraciousreaderdarling )
- A Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller ( @whatisquinnreading and @rachels.reading34 )

🤎 Book series I’ll leave unread:
- ACOTAR
- Mistborn (tried it, didn’t love it)
- Dungeon Crawler Carl

I’ve tagged a few friends, but of course no pressure to partake. 🤎

💭 do we have any of these in common? Are there any listed that I should prioritize? 🍂

Last night @woodrecommend, our sisters, my friend, and I were able to participate in the highly popular Silent Pages Society with @denverlibrary. For an hour, 150+ of us got on the train with our books and silently read while we went 22 miles across Colorado. If you're in the Denver area I suggest keeping an eye out for the next silent book club because this was so much fun. To be able to take up almost an entire train with bookworms all reading in our own worlds was an introverts dream. Also you get a passport to stamp, and on your 5th trip you get a patch, and if you're anything like me you'll do pretty much anything for a patch or sticker 🧡

Never Whistle At Night: Part II Back For Blood
Out August 18 2026

Your favorite horror arc buddy reviewers are back with another highly anticipated read! We both had immensely high hopes for the first Never Whistle but were left feeling a tad underwhelmed, so when the blurb for the sequel came out claiming it was darker and scarier, it was an immediate request.

Both of our reviews are in the slides as well as our individual story ratings (it's funny how close we were in ratings for almost every story). We can't suggest this one enough, especially if you're looking to add more Indigenous Horror to your TBR!

Thank you @netgalley and @vintagebooks for letting us give ourselves a taste of Summerween early 🤭

another horror arc buddy read🧛🏻‍♀️🧛🏻‍♀️

Milkteeth by Caitlin Starling
OUT 20 OCTOBER 2026

We both genuinely enjoyed this new take on vampire horror. Newborn vampires who need a wet nurse because they can’t initially survive on human blood? Now that’ unique. Sprinkle in some gory horror, backroom vibes, scientific aspect, and some self discovery, and you’ve got Milkteeth.
It was a fun and twisty ride. Highly recommend to any vampire horror lover of just horror lover. We both agree though, that you should likely refrain from eating a meal while reading.

Reading horror arcs together has been so much fun! Thank you to @netgalley and @stmartinspress for letting us both read this new vampire take early🩸

Spending the first week of annual leave in a cottage in the mountains, as far away from people and work as I can get. I struggled to make time to read during my ED rotation because the shift work was all-consuming and exhausting. I’m glad that I’ve finally been able to pick up a book and lose myself in a new world again 🏰🐉⚔️✨.

Cr: Assassin’s Apprentice by Robin Hobb. Buddy read with @woodrecommend.

Horror ARC Buddy Read Review 🪾🪾

I Am The Monster Under The Bed by Emily Zinnakas
Out September 15 2026

When Kat from @stmartinspress sends you a debut horror widget saying you'd probably love it, trust her. Because she was absolutely right.

This book got @mkm_library personally out of a weeks long reading slump and was just a fast and genuinely terrifying at parts, horror. Both of us agree the FMC is a badass, if not a little insane but honestly who isn't?
We both highly suggest checking this out if you get spooked by the shadows, ever heard a whistle from the forest, or are just full of feminine rage.

Thank you to @netgalley @stmartinspress and Kat for bringing this into our lives and letting us read it early

I asked a mix of my IRL friends (and dad) and bookish friends what 4 things reminded them of me 🌞

ngl this trend lowkey made me tear up. It is such a wholesome thing and what a pleasure to have people in my life that see me in everyday things.

What is one thing that reminds YOU of me? 🤭
