This time in our country hits a little differently when you get to walk through its history. 🇺🇸✨

Standing outside the Capitol, exploring the Library of Congress, grabbing a coffee at Ebenezer’s Coffeehouse, and wandering through the museums along the National Mall. I so wish E could have been there with us to watch us curiosity take over.

A little history. A lot of walking. Plenty of coffee. We’ll be back with the kids in tow

Labor Day Weekend Camping 2027 ✨

🔑We upgraded our tent this year thanks to FB marketplace and it made a huge difference

▶️ Our kids to be kids sun up to sun down, little structure, no screens and tons of creativity it’s a highlight of these trips for me!

🤦‍♀️ Friendships are so hard to figure out at 6 so a lot of hurt feelings

❤️ Camping probably won’t ever be my favorite thing but for the people I love it’s worth it every time!

Got a cool lightening strike on the ocean shot 📸 became biking on vacay people 🚴 ate lots of donuts 🍩, read a book 📖.

We’ve tried to take shorter but more frequent time away together, something that doesn’t rattle the kids schedule but also gives us a few moments to breathe together ❤️

On Christmas I surprised him with a trip to Colorado for his birthday. It’s something he’s been talking about since before we got married (~12 years ago). We’ve been to 7 countries together, and too many other states to count and yet Colorado had evaded us. Until now…

We seriously had such a great trip. We got a mix of all kinds of weather, views, and food (which was surprisingly incredibly delicious everywhere we went).

Happy birthday trip babe - I love you more than words!

🪨 Red Rocks 🟥 it started out chilly but warmed up in the sun quickly. Honestly very few of our pictures did it justice. The white caps of the Rockies, the expanse below, the intricacy of the rocks. Several moments made me cry this trip just because of Gods creativity and beauty!

So let’s talk about it:
🎸the amphitheater is iconic, but I wouldn’t come when it’s this cold. We walked the steps, enjoyed the view. And the visitor center with all the history is definitely a must ✅

🦖 we did the geologic overlook trail is awe inspiring, and it also overlooks dinosaur ridge that was the site of a paleontology dig back in the 80s

🥾 our route ➡️ Geologic overlook Trail, Red Rocks trail, Will Call Trail, Trading Post Trail. It was about 4 miles of beauty but the elevation is no joke we climbed about 1100 feet in already thin air. You can also take the mt Vernon connector off these trails to climb mount morrison that is the peak of this spot.

Come when it’s sunny, take your time, experience it all 😍

❄️Snow Day in @rockynps and Estes Park ❄️ when we saw the snow in the forecast we considered changing our plan AND I’m so glad we didn’t ‼️

🥶 April is still super turbulent weather wise here and it was very cold yet there was something so whimsical about being out there in the snow - it was beautiful and as the clouds started to break and the peaks appeared it was *chefs kiss

🥾 We did two pretty easy trails since the snow was heavy - Beaver Meadow and Moraine Park. One on the side of a mountain, the other creek side it was fun to have both perspectives

🏘️Estes Park was such a fun spot, we walked the riverwalk (see bridge picture) and the views were incredible - we grabbed coffee at the spice rack and lunch and bird and Jim’s 💯

⁉️My suggestion // come here while there’s still snow on the ground, but not the middle of the winter. The crowd was low and the hikes magical ✨

Cinque Terre // the Italian Coast. Cinque Terre consists of 5 towns and is nestled in a National Park. We stayed in Riomaggiore - the southernmost town - but hiked the trails to each town. Our favorite stop was Vernazza and would probably recommend that town!! We ate great food in each spot along the way and enjoyed some coastal sunsets and eats along the way.

Was also reminded at how superior the train system is in Europe 💯
