Join us for a FREE crochet workshop, and walk away with your first granny square at 10,000 HOURS! All skill levels welcome!

Maya Woollyak (@woollyak) is on a mission to make fibre art more accessible through material and skill sharing. She says crochet offers a resistance to fast-fashion trends by encouraging us to embrace a slower and more intentional process of making. Her practice is rooted in ditching the rules and working intuitively with scrap materials, creating contemporary pieces that explore how resourcefulness and experimentation can challenge ideas around value and consumption.

➡️ She will walk you through the basics, starting with the simple double crochet stitch, then using those skills to make your first granny square. It’s a foundational skill in crochet and opens the door to endless future projects, not just a one-off. Choose from different colours and textures to make your own granny square to display on the night, or expand upon for your first project.

✨ What to expect ✨
* Learn a basic crochet stitch
* Create your first granny square using different materials
* Encouragement to experiement with different colours and textures
* Friendly, drop-in format - no experience necessary

📍FREE tickets available here: 10000.eventbrite.co.uk

Sunday softness 🧶😍🐾

While knitting, someone else decided the project was perfect for snoozes. I suppose when you live with a knitting teacher, you learn early that good yarn is best appreciated up close (and slept on).

Slow stitches, warm wool, and even warmer company.

Come find me for laid back lessons with @woollyak It's lovely 😊🫖

Halloween has been and gone, the nights are drawing in and pumpkin spice lattes are back on the menu, which can only mean one thing – the season for cosy crafts has finally arrived!

To celebrate, @tomdaley is bringing us @thegameofwool on Channel 4, a delicious yarn-packed competition featuring ten hopeful knitters – it’s GBBO, but with wool!

So if, like us, you’ve been inspired by Tom Daley and the gang to pick up the needles and get stuck in, you’ve come to the right place! Whether you want to start simple with basic knitting techniques, find out how to knit a simple beanie or rustle up a Fairisle knit scarf, we’ve got some of the best knitters in the country just waiting to share their purls (sorry!) of wisdom with you – your knitting journey starts here!

Ready to find your yarn and cast on? Find your perfect knitting workshop and book your creative seat today at the link in our bio or visit classbento.co.uk

Woohoo! My Blodeuwedd pattern and pre-made scarves are now available for purchase at @yarnandsew

Yarn and Sew is the newest yarn store edition to the Bristol community and is definitely worth a frequent visit to stock up on ethical yarns… There’s also an online store for other UK friends and residents 🫶

I’m so excited to be working with Maya from Yarn and Sew this year 💓
