Preparing for Tour de Fleece...800g of Romney fiber weighed out into 25g nests. Bobbins are emptied and new handspun leaders have been added. Storage bobbins are ready. I've done a little sample spinning with the fiber and will wash it and knit a swatch.
Next will be giving the wheel a nice cleaning... #projectsweaterchest

Testing the swatch for gauge after washing. Has anyone seen biasing effect the fit of handspun socks? It looks like there is a little biasing in the swatch...#handspundorset

8 yards of silk in a 2 ply. I left in little bits of texture which was fun. The orange is quite eye searing, in a fun way. I think this will make a cute bunny nugget.
Now my #turtlemadespindles will be filled with new fiber...

I'm enjoying the matching silk fiber that came with my #turtlemadespindles . I'm trying to get a little texture left in here and there with the silk. This is such a fun spindle, thank you so much Rachel for sharing your experiences!! I do enjoy that the silk looks like clown hair. 🎪

I'm joining in on the #fiberfriday fun! The turquoise is hiding & the grey and yellow are subtle but I'm loving how this 6 oz braid is spinning up! I will be doing a 3 ply with this bamboo/merino/nylon blend.

Rachel at @welfordpurls spun up our April #SGYclub spinning fibre on her #turtlemade Turkish spindles and plied them from centre-pull balls to make a 2-ply yarn. Turkish spindles are a great way to make spinning portable. What do you do to maximize your time for spinning? #spinningyarn #spindle #handspun #handspunyarn #spinnersofinstagram Get all the details of Rachel's yarn on our blog. Link in the bio!
