Once again, I had the immense pleasure of working and writing for PLY Magazine. The Sericulture issue is ready for us all to enjoy - this time, I was writing about the Tipping Point.

This included three different fibres, all blended with silk in various ratios, and then knit or woven into cloth.

They all behaved quite differently - the most surprising was at what point they no longer felt or acted as wool or ramie. My hope is that this article inspires lots of sampling in your practice to find those perfect yarns for your fabrics and projects.

Sometimes it takes umpteen-million-trillion times to cast on and re-knit to get there. Yes, that’s a real number. Yes, it was that many. Yes, we’re finally getting there. No, I did not read the pattern properly. Yes, I already knew what it said because I’d knit it before. No, I didn’t remember accurately. I did, however, read the pattern **properly ** on the umpteenth-million-trillionth time. Things went better after that.
