Outdoor Dallas girlies assemble! 🧗‍♀️🏕️

This Dallas social org is all about the outdoors, with no gatekeeping, no pressure, and no experience required.

@gooutside_girlies launched in March 2024 to make nature more fun and accessible for women, including trans women and nonbinary people. Whether you’re a first-timer or seasoned adventurer, their events are open to anyone who identifies as female. No experience needed.

So far, they’ve hosted a picnic and plant swap, gone outdoor climbing, and in July, they’ll hit Lake Ray Hubbard for kayaking and paddleboarding. Monthly outings are posted on Instagram.

8 years ~ Austin is officially tied with San Antonio for the longest I've ever called somewhere home.

When I moved here in 2017 I imagined and hoped for what the next 8 years would bring and oh my did they bring.

I gained amazing friends and a faith community. I started my career and made connections in the nonprofit space. I braved dating apps and went on camping trips and hosted friends in my new city.

I fell in love with cooking and adopted a new cat. I muddled my way through COVID-19 and virtual game nights. I saw my friends become mothers and changed jobs and moved apartments.

I became passionate about TNR and began confronting my own white supremacy. I got involved in local organizing and moved in with my partner.

I adopted a dog and leaned into my creativity. I started therapy for my body image issues and baked for my friends.

I experienced job loss. I got married. I turned 30.

I grew into more new versions of myself than I can even count. I am grateful for every one. ✨
