Exhibition catalogue for @wegetcloser in collaboration with @katie.eva and @workoutservices
180 pages, softcover, edition of 1000

WeGetCloser is a cross-cultural exhibition project dedicated to creating new spaces of connection through dialogue, collaboration, and shared experience. I had the pleasure of contributing to this publication by developing its visual identity, which reflects the theme of closeness as a central concept, particularly expressed through the typographic system. The catalogue mirrors the diverse artistic voices of the first exhibition, which took place at Fahrbereitschaft in Berlin.

We were invited to develop the visual identity for the interim phase of @volksbuehne_berlin

Our unselected proposal introduced a visual language defined by deliberate roughness and an unconventional, at times dissonant, color palette.

A mix of typefaces intend to underline the house’s plurality, lending it multiple voices to whisper, speak or exclaim with.

At its center was a custom wordmark: a contemporary interpretation of the historic Volksbühne house typeface.

A recurring triangular anchor, derived from the shape of Rosa-Luxemburg Platz, structured the layout system.

We aimed to connect the stage to the city square, grounding the identity in the political and societal significance of public space, specifically the Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz and the Volksbühne’s legacy. Through this anchor, each medium became an extension of the stage: a way for one of Berlin’s most iconic theaters to reach into its city and invite the public inside.

We congratulate the winners of the pitch and hope to express our joy in developing this concept by sharing our unseen proposal that was created collaboratively between @workoutservices and @martinmajor
