At Global Granite UK, we believe better surfaces start with better choices. Through our own brand, Global Quartz, we’re expanding our offering to include zero-silica and low-silica quartz surfaces — because innovation should go hand in hand with responsibility. As proud sponsors of the Worktop Fabricators Federation (WFF) event, we welcome the industry’s move towards materials with the lowest possible crystalline silica content. We believe collaboration, innovation and responsible material choices are essential to moving our industry forward. Because we care about the people behind the surfaces — the ones who fabricate, install and bring them to life. #GlobalGraniteUK #GlobalQuartz #WFF #WorktopFabricatorsFederation #LowSilica ZeroSilica SaferSurfaces

HEALTH & SAFETY | Back in June, silicosis hit the UK headlines and TV news desks. For some this was the first time they had heard of silicosis caused by silica dust but at Classico Marble we take our teams’ health and safety incredibly seriously and have been protecting our team for years. We are proud that ahead of the news hitting our screens in June, the Classico Marble Ltd workshops were put forward as a safe, professional stone fabrication workshop for ITV Meridian’s Westminster correspondent Kim Bradshaw to visit and film for the ITV News report on silicosis. Our high standards of service are backed by the highest standards of safety on our workshops. Silicosis is caused by breathable silica dust, and our mantra is ‘Don’t make the dust in the first place’. We do this through water suppression on all our machines. Watch the full report on ITV news or find a link to it in our stories, and read our news story about this. If you want to work with a reliable, safe stone fabricator with a great reputation for high quality work that has been built up over more than 30 years, then get in touch with us now. #SafeFactory #DustSupression #StoneFabricator #StoneFabricationWorkshops #Silicosis @worktopfabricatorsfederation

Compliance is becoming more complex. It doesn’t have to become more difficult. Following our event, we wanted to start by thanking @3m for inviting us and our customers to their Innovation Centre in Bracknell. The event provided a useful insight into the new regulations, where attendees were offered the unique opportunity to have a live Q&A panel with the @hsegovuk They were also able to hear and speak to the @worktopfabricatorsfederation & @stonefederation , as well as having the opportunity to have a thorough presentation on APF, fit testing and try on various PPE directly with the technical specialists at 3M. #quartz #3m #dzambelis #wff #stonefederation

We devised our Open Tech Day on the 7th May to be beneficial for fabricators looking to improve and grow their businesses. After all, time away from the business focusing ‘on’ the business needs to be invaluable. The day was filled with stone fabrication professionals, select experts from our brand partners and other relevant businesses, all discussing and testing machinery, tooling and tech. Market insights were shared both up and down stream. The knowledge and passion for efficient and professional stone fabricating ran deep, and everyone was glued to the @DonatoniGroup Jet625 when we put it and @Wodiamdiamondtools tooling through its paces on a slab of quartzite (but you had to be there to know what we are talking about - IYKYK 😉). Many thanks to the @worktopfabricatorsfederation for cohosting the event with us and to all of our brand partners. We look forward to the next one. If you want to be on the invite list for the next event, then sign up for our newsletter to get the heads up before anyone else. Quinten and Kevin flew to the UK for one reason. To get in front of fabricators and industry people and let them see what Wodiam is all about. Answer honest questions. Let the tools speak. The event was organised by Stone Automation together with the Worktop Fabricators Federation, a non-profit that represents businesses across our industry. Stone Automation opened the room to their partners, and we were there to make a first impression worth remembering. The best time to show what you are made of is before someone has decided.
