Making making making!
I’ve been a bit quiet on the socials of late as my little hard working hands have been making some super special commissions.
.
This 2 panel giant still isn’t finished (5 weeks and counting), and is due to be in its extremely special place back on Gadigal Country soon.
.
I’ll share final images once I get these on site soon.

The Gathering Circle by @simonethomsonart represents Birrarung and Dhungala, honouring the two clan groups of Aunty Dot Peters.
Lump couldn’t be more thrilled to have contributed to this special project, fabricating the brass elements for Simone’s stunning landscape installation in Scoresby.
A huge thank you to @simonethomsonart and @wrap_au for trusting us to help bring this meaningful work to life.

Last Friday, @wrap_au were on site installing @makikoryujin's burnt timber works ahead of the opening of 11 Stewart Street. ‘Inner Garden’ holds space for a moment of pause and reflection. Each piece is charred by hand, no two surfaces reading the same.

Here is a look at the final touches to our newest build.

New public artwork unlocked!

This gathering circle invites us to celebrate the story and spirit of iconic Aunty Dot Peters. 🖤💛❤️

Binak Ngarrgu, Basket of Knowledge, was created by artist @SimoneThomsonart (Wurundjeri, Yorta-Yorta, Wiradjuri). Simone worked closely with Weston Rumbold Art Projects @wrap_au and Aunty Dot’s family.

It is a public space to connect with each other, the land we are on and the incredible women who added bricks to the pathway of equality.

🖤💛❤️

Aunty Dot used her role as an activist, educator, author and Elder to raise awareness for injustices faced by First Nations people. Born in 1930, she spent most of her childhood in the Healesville region.

Aunty Dot's father was a Yorta Yorta man who fought and died in the Second World War. Like many Aboriginal service people at the time, his sacrifice was not properly recognised, and his family did not receive the same acknowledgement or support afforded to others.

The injustice of this experience fuelled Aunty Dot to dedicate herself to ensuring that the contributions and sacrifices of First Peoples during wartime would not be overlooked.

Passionate about protecting and sharing cultural practices and knowledge, Aunty Dot was also an Aboriginal Educator, devoting herself to passing these traditions on to future generations.

This artwork is just one of the many being unveiled from the second round of the Victorian Women’s Public Art Program. This innovative program seeks to balance the scales for the visibility of women.

Tap on the saved story for more profiles of the inspiring works reshaping the public artscape!
🖤💛❤️

Two memorable evenings at Root to Stem, hosted by @wrap_au as part of Melbourne Design Week.

Set within The Park House, Abbotsford, the long-table dining experience brought together food, design and storytelling through a curated menu by Chef Johnny Hasan from @sspatris.

Centred around circularity, seasonality and thoughtful use of ingredients, the evening allowed guests to experience the connection between creative practice, sustainability and shared dining, all surrounded by contemporary Australian art and design.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the evening and to our partners who helped bring the experience to life.

A weekend of storytelling, colour and creativity at The Park House, Abbotsford.

As part of Melbourne Design Week, @wrap_au hosted two family-friendly workshops that invited children to explore creativity through hands-on making, and imaginative play.

In ‘Illuminated Stories’ with artist Peter Hood, children painted their own personal stories onto take-home paper orb lanterns provided by @ikea_australia.

The weekend also featured ‘Make Your Own Monster’, presented in collaboration with the @austapestry, where children were introduced to the art of weaving while creating their own unique monsters to take home.

Thank you to everyone who joined us across the weekend and helped bring The Park House to life through creativity, storytelling and community connection.
