Happy Horror Prom! 🖤🕸️🕷️

For my final big feature for Women in Horror Month, I asked a group of horror authors about their favorite resilient female characters in the genre. There were so many amazing answers, and I'm so thrilled to share them with everyone!

This is one of three different posts on my blog about favorite resilient characters in horror! I'll be sharing the other two posts over the next few days. In total, we had over five DOZEN female horror authors participate in this roundup. Literally over 60 female authors!

Also, a little bat told me that the other two posts are already up on my blog, so if you participated in this feature, your write-up should already be live! (And if for some reason you don't see it in any of the three posts on my site, just send me a message, and we'll get it figured out!)

Happy Women in Horror Month!

MEET #THELASTCALLCREW 🍻🪓

Texas has many cousins, but its favorite is Florida, and that is where our next crew member is tuning in from! Say howdy to @writejennywrite 🥰

Jenny Lewis is writer of dark and unsettling fiction, her stories often feminist driven highlighting the “good for her” trope. She has B.A. in English & Literature and taught high school English for 15 years before deciding to focus her efforts back on her craft and family.

Jenny’s going on sub next year with her contemporary southern gothic, so raise your glass and wish her luck! In the meantime, she is working on a medieval femgore WIP, which I know will be as delicious and terrifying as it sounds. 🥃

You can also find Jenny as one of our contributors for the @poisonedsoupantho! Her flash fiction “Memory Is a Viewfinder” is one for the melancholic heart.

I asked Jenny what she’ll be ordering at The Teegarden Saloon, and she said a vodka tonic with lime! 🍋‍🟩

Sound like you? If so, give Jenny a follow! 🥰
