My sixth season at Liberty Mountain comes to a close. What marked this year was a sense of community and comradery. I’m very blessed that I have the opportunity to work in theatre — some days you don’t really take it all in, but when you do, you realize just how wild and fun the things you’re doing at “work” are. It’s a gift to be able to play pretend. To become someone else while also connecting with and exploring the deepest parts of yourself. To put on a costume and literally feel what it would’ve felt like to be this person. To hold the things your characters would’ve held; from a gavel to a musket. To collaborate with others and learn of the stories that they want to tell. To deeply link to people who you will only know for a fraction of your life. It’s all such a gift. Thank you all for a wonderful season! Enjoy many of the candid photos I took this year.

Summer reenacting with Liberty Mountain! Didn’t take too many photos, 1700s illusions must be preserved. Hung out with cool people, survived the heat, slept in an 18th century tent, and portrayed a red coat on the 4th of July! What more could an American girl ask for? By far some of the best weekends of the summer!

10 years of fireworks, re-enactments and all manner of things declared. At the end of all these very long days, I am thankful again and again to be married to someone with such drive and such commitment. Thank you for waking up every day so determined to make this country a country worthy of our son’s growing up; and the growing of everything else. Happy 250th to the busiest reenactor I know! Congratulations on the culmination of all your hard work 🎇🎆

Happy birthday to my husband ❤️ I had the privilege of meeting you exactly 10 years ago today. And somehow in that hot, revolutionary summer I knew my life was already changing forever. We have had the privilege of 10 revolutionary summers now — this one being no exception — and it has been my express joy to see you move and grow and learn and strive endlessly to make such incredible dreams come true for our family. We love you so, so much. Here’s to another unbelievable year! (swipe to the end for at least 1 photo in normal clothes 😉)

Looking back at my first fall contract with @libertymountaindrama ♥️. Truly an unforgettable experience. School shows, MainStage, kiddos fan mail, wonderful people, special songs and dance, fight choreo, SAFD pass in quarterstaff, AND getting to play a fierce character in history (shoutout Mary Patton)! I love performing history! ♥️♥️♥️

S I L A S - This was one of the most memorable and rewarding experiences I have ever been a part of. The joy that I had playing Silas Martin brought many emotions out of me I almost forgot I had. Working with a beautiful cast, lifelong friends, and people I won’t ever forget, made this Show even more special! Some may not know, but many times in the beginning I wanted to quit and drop out because of the immense pressure I put on myself to portray the character and embody someone I had little knowledge about. But after speaking with my therapist and directors @writerfarmeractor & @ashtreeofthesea lol, they gave me solid advice and I learned more about the history and truly embodied the character. Speaking with GOD, I knew it was time to give it my all and dedicate my time to making sure every show was memorable for every audience member. Having my family show up and seeing their admiration and smiles gave me a sense of fulfillment! I just pray and hope every person who came to the shows and the cast that were a part of this play enjoyed it as much as I did! Thank you for everything! Huzzah! #LibertyMountain

That concludes my fifth season at Liberty Mountain!! What a great honor it has been to work with this cast. The best way I would describe it is lightning in a bottle. I truly feel that this was the best iteration of this show that we’ve had so far; and I can say for certain I’ve made some new friends for life, with whom I got to share many “firsts” with. As a bonus, I got to play this version of Captain Abraham DePeyster, which I’ve wanted to do since my first year in this show when I was twelve. With time, patience, and great effort, your dreams can become a reality.

Happy birthday to the man who never stops surprising me 🧡 To the man who can cut it as a redcoat or a blue, all while building chicken coops, memorizing impossible amounts of Arthur Miller text, weeding his ridiculous garden by hand, throwing hay bales, writing proposals, and somehow still finding time for the soccer games, awards days, bingo nights, basketball games, and pool parties. I love you endlessly — the man I met exactly 9 years ago today at my first Liberty Mountain read through; the man I said goodbye to this morning as I went to drop our little one off at day camp, and he headed up the road to keep weeding rows of corn and beans and all manner of growing things; and — perhaps most importantly — the man you are growing and striving to be every day. I am looking so forward to campfire peach cobbler while watching the sunset (but first let’s dress you up like Patrick Ferguson so you can give your Rotary presentation, shall we?) Happy birthday, Jeremy — we love you endlessly ❤️ (Fun fact: Jeremy and Patrick Ferguson have the same birthday. So happy birthday to you too, Bulldog 🇬🇧⚔️💥)

I’m incredibly honored and humbled to be able to say that I originated a role in a world premier of a play. Not too many times you get to do that in your career. What made it most impactful, though, was that this play was directed by my dear friend Jeremy Homesley. I can’t begin to explain how proud I am of him for writing such an amazing play and putting it on with such skill and talent. As a fellow playwright, it’s something I know I can look to for the future. Much like how Abraham DePeyster looked up to Patrick Ferguson. Getting to play DePeyster was an honor, and something I’ve been looking forward to since I started acting in historical dramas. Not to mention that I had the coolest costume of my career so far. I can’t wait to keep making memories with King of Kings!

“Tonight is closing night for the, and I can’t help but feel a mix of emotions. It’s bittersweet to say goodbye to something that has brought so much joy and growth into my life. I’m truly grateful for how God sends the perfect people and opportunities just when you need them. This show and the amazing cast have meant the world to me, and I’ve loved every moment of playing my part. A huge thank you to our incredible director for taking a chance on me and believing in my abilities. I’ll cherish these memories forever!” Much love everyone it’s been an incredible journey and honor
