thank you to @writewithcarol for capturing this snapshot of @whatwordsmaybe and me discussing #februaries published by @yellowarrowpublishing at @georgemasonu annual book festival @fallforthebook. i couldn't have asked for better weather or a better audience of poetry readers, writers, and college students. i am still processing this full circle moment as my return to writing began on this very campus over ten years ago at @nvwritingproject summer institute. i am so appreciative of all the people who made yesterday such a memorable experience for me, especially suzy and the festival organizers, sierra who curated fantastic questions to spark an important and necessary dialogue about the power of poetry, and @bardsalley for selling copies of my book. i know it's been twenty-four hours but i am still floating! 🖤
