POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
I recently spoke to Business Insider for an article about “The hidden emotional cost of carrying debt.” They asked probing questions about debt I took on during a manic episode and what happened afterward. It wasn’t easy to talk about. But I answered them anyway because this isn’t talked about enough.

Money is still considered “off limits.” When you take out debt, even if it is during a manic episode, it can carry a lot of shame.

For me, dealing with debt became part of recovering from mania. The anxiety, the regret, and the reality of having to deal with decisions I made when I wasn’t well didn’t disappear when my mood stabilized.

Has mania ever affected your relationship with money? Let’s talk about it in the comments. You don’t have to share numbers or personal financial details. ❤️

I talked more about this in the Business Insider article. It’s linked in my bio and story if you’d like to read.
