From cowboys and rodeo riders to renegades and adrenaline seekers drawn to extraordinary pursuits, Goodson and Wrubel explore the adventure, independence, and resilience that have long shaped the Western experience. Artist Spotlight: Steve Wrubel

For more than three decades, photographer Steve Wrubel has traveled the world in search of moments that inspire wonder. From the coastlines of California to the beaches of West Africa, his photographic practice has been guided by a desire to reveal the extraordinary within the everyday. Deeply connected to the American West, he draws inspiration from its vast skies, lingering light, and the quiet authenticity of its landscapes and people. Wrubel has traveled tens of thousands of miles through ranch country and rodeo towns, capturing split-second moments of movement and emotion.

Through his distinctive use of composition, light, and isolation, Wrubel transforms familiar subjects into unexpected visual experiences. A bucking bronco becomes a study in movement; a rodeo rider becomes a portrait of determination; and a fleeting moment becomes a lasting meditation on the beauty of the human experience. His photographs invite viewers to slow down, look closer, and discover the wonder hidden within the landscapes and lives of the American West.
