So grateful! My sister and I ran a 10K this weekend in Charleston, our first real distance run since before COVID. The last time we ran together here, it was a half marathon in 2015 (9th photo) This year, she gave me this race as a Christmas gift, and it truly was a blessing. Another slam dunk from our amazing ceramists at @oralartsdental We extracted this front tooth and immediately placed an implant after the tooth had fractured from a very old root canal/post. The two key points here were 1) placing the implant with the end in mind (so the crown emerges from the gum tissue in a symmetrical position to the adjacent tooth) and 2) communicating with a SKILLED dental lab tech using many photos and shade tabs (then the tech can get as close as possible to matching the adjacent tooth.) In this case I think our lab tech deserves an A++! Would you extract #29 or not? This healthy 60 year-old patient was referred to our office for extraction of tooth #29 (lower right impacted 2nd premolar). The patient has no symptoms whatsoever. Everyone loves gummy bears, but I don’t think the same can be said for “gummy” smiles. This smile makeover gives our already beautiful patient the smile she deserves. Doesn’t her new smile make her just glow??! ☀️ . . . . For my dental peeps: We completed hard and soft tissue crown lengthening surgery about 2 months prior to crown delivery. So often, I have patients ask me to replace old crowns on front teeth that they hate. A lot of these patients would greatly benefit from crown lengthening. Everyone wants quick results, but my Periodontist mentor @wtrdmd taught me that taking extra time with additional appointments to gain a better esthetic outcome is always worth it in the end. 🎼🎶 by: Sylvan Esso “Coffee”

Another beautiful smile makeover complete! I met this patient when she needed an implant to replace a broken back tooth. After talking to her a few minutes, I found out she has never really loved her smile. Even though I thought it was gorgeous before, I’m not the one that has to wear it daily. I encourage all of my patients to fix anything about their smile that makes them insecure. It’s always worth it in the end because the patients leave wanting to share their new smiles with the world and the world needs more smiles.
