Appreciation post 🥹

While designing a mural for @steviesfamous, I knew the surface was gonna be a bear. So I asked @bonesandgold to help me paint. And then @torikinn offered to help paint too, and for a day @kathleenfwarren jumped on!

We spent a week in the sun together tackling this big wall, sizing up at 15ft x 75ft. The eyelids were sweating, the sunscreen slid off on skin contact, but we stayed focused 🎯

I’m grateful for the giggles and talent and pure joy that helped bring this project to life. And big shout out to the Stevie’s team for the ice cups, slices, and encouragement along the way ❤️‍🔥

new signal box commissioned & designed for @phinneyneighborhoodassociation! Thank you for the opportunity to display my work alongside many talented artists in our community

the theme was “wander PhinneyWood,” so I took a walk to look at all local plant life for inspiration. Lucky to have designed this in the Spring when the earth was waking up from winter slumber 🌼✨🌻🌞🌸🩷🪻

🎨 Painting a painted stork, a beautiful bird that inhabits wetlands in Cambodia.

✏️ I’m using a paper template here to transfer my lines. This wall was so heavily textured that finding my lines proved difficult depending on the time of day. More on its finished lewk later …

POV: you’re transferring art to a wall at the start of a mural, and things look a little chaotic 🙃 trust the process

“When I compare what we do today, and what Shepley Bulfinch built back then, in so many ways it’s still the same. For us, it’s always about people, and how we as people engage with space.”

President and CEO Angela Watson sits down with the Architect’s Newspaper to talk about our 150-year anniversary, and our show at the Boston Architectural College, up now through May 9.
