Honestly, I am still so sad about this show closing. It was my favorite show for what it represented and taught to its audiences. It was pure Black and Brown Queer JOY. Just look at this beautiful cast! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️🐱

I had to take @matteo.tarolli after seeing it my first time two weeks prior. Congrats to everyone involved. I hope y’all get some much deserved rest!

I really wanted 2 go 1 more time b4 it closes so I waited 2 hours 4 rush tickets 4 my cousin & I & there were no more so I purchased full price & the show sold out. CATS: The Jellicle Ball will go down in history & it has opened the door 4 what’s 2 come. As a Musical Composer I want 2 give performers of color the opportunity 2 shine. I want costume, sound, & lighting designers 2 have their work flourish through my shows. The theater is ever evolving & it may close on Broadway but it will live in the hearts & dreams of many that it will inspire.

"You come first." 🐱✨

When casting @catsjellicleball, Victor Vazquez didn't just want to fill roles—he wanted to build a community.

A unique project that blended theater with ballroom culture, casting prioritized the ballroom community, giving them first access and keeping submissions open for a year to find the perfect performers.

Casting directors are true architects of a show.

We often talk about the "no’s" in this industry, but rarely do we talk about the power of the "yes."

Casting Director Victor Vazquez shares how meaningful and life changing delivering a "yes" is, and why he never loses sight of the human impact of his work.

Would you rather cast a revival or new musical?

Victor Vazquez says both have unique magic. New works are excitingly experimental. But revivals? He loves cracking open something familiar and seeing it differently. It's all about new perspectives.
