PRST // Talk No. 2

For our second episode, we‘ve invited Australian native, Austria based DJ and Producer Cozi.

Connor came up through Sydney/Eora’s club scene with a background few producers share: professional dance. That foundation shapes his approach, bringing a dancer’s precision and instinct for momentum, tension and release to both his productions and DJ sets.

His sound draws from 2000s-rooted house and tech-house: sexy, heavy, groove-locked and unapologetically physical. Raw drums, weighty low-end and undeniable swing define music built for the dancefloor.

With his last release release on the berlin based imprint @xkalay , distributed by @subwaxbcn, he delivers exactly that.

🛸 Big strides from COZi, the dancer-turned-producer caught in perpetual motion. Movement’s been in the blood from minute one and the influence is undeniable. Sydney-raised and Austria-based, the Energy In Motion boss steps to X-Kalay with some of the sultriest gear we’ve released. Sexy, groove-first stuff channelling tech and prog house of the ‘90s and early 2000s: equal parts Danny Howells inkiness, ‘Heaven Scent’-era Bedrock and Saeed & Palash at their most potent.

Support included from Raresh, Bl:ush, Zeynep, BASHKKA, THC, Danielle, SUCHI, Eoin DJ, A For Alpha, Byron Yeates, Tai Lokun, Chloe Caillet, Paperkraft, Per Hammer, B. Love and more...

Four extra weighty, heads down grooves drawing influence from 90s tech and progressive house; made up of rolling grooves, fat low end and nostalgic pads.

Constructions plunge fathoms-deep into the nether-realm before darting synths and widescreen pads open the floodgates for a full-blown prog ascension. Old school sensibilities at the forefront but zero nostalgia trip.

Caught in a flow state front to back and the dancing years shine through on every groove.

HANS| DEEP DRIVING MIX

After a brief break from playing out and taking the time to dig for new material i’ve felt the need to share what i’ve been feeling recently!

This mix explores a range of deep house, 2000s inspired minimal & tech house laced with a bit of dub & prog for good measure.

Planning on making this a series for the future sharing all the sounds that I’m exploring instead of downloading a stack of tracks that end up collecting dust on the usb lmk your thoughts on this one🫶

Swipe for some IDs you can find in the mix—>

Thank you to @xkalay for the opportunity to create this bad boy. I am honored & grateful to have my first record land on a label that I have respected and played since I started my journey with electronic music!
