The FIFA World Cup had me in the mood for a football romance, so I picked up Close Knit. It was such an enjoyable read....sweet, comforting, and exactly what I needed.

Then I somehow wandered onto the ice and read Gloves Off . Loved it!!
The chemistry was soooo good.

I know I have friends from all over the world here, so drop the flag of the country you’re rooting for this World Cup! ⚽️

Although fifa itself sucks, The World Cup for me always brings so much fun and excitement to my summer. World Cup summers are marked by memories of ditching church to watch the finals, screaming at the tv with my brother, covering my eyes during shoot outs, hot summer days, pacing the kitchen during a tense game, and just so much fun rooting for our teams.

I have fond memories of ditching church to walk home with my brother because my mom wouldn’t a) let us skip church and b) wouldn’t drive us home early to watch a World Cup final game 🤪 And mind you, we didn’t live in Utah, so it’s not like the church building was just in our neighborhood!
I also have hilarious memories watching the 2010 Netherlands vs Spain final match with my “Dutch” cousins 😄

This year feels especially exciting and special because Seattle is a host city! We didn’t try to get tickets but the city is hosting watch parties for every match, so I can’t wait to make those memories with my kids!

ANYWAYYY, I of course had to find the best soccer romances for anyone wanting some soccer with a side of romance this month! I haven’t read any of these, but I promise I vet all of my picks thoroughly and only show you the ones that I want to read!

(and therefore i will slaughter them ghostface style lol 😭🔪 just kidding (possessive mmc, i guess, here))

i’m so glad you’re in my life. i’m so glad we get to see each other grow and change and like live our adult lives together, witness each other, and heeeheee haahaa our way through things with each other. you continue to impress me by scaling mountains and skiing slopes and staubing up some sourdough bread and slowly converting me into a thriller girly and yet still being resilient and kind and caring and loving and dedicated!!

april was a busy one. i was home for maybe 10 days total… so yeah, kind of dreaming about sleeping for 22 business days. kidding (sort of). alec and clem aren’t going to write themselves

d and i (&zuko) escaped to montauk to celebrate on guard’s release, which was very needed and very cold. then i flew to spain and hiked 62 miles from santiago de compostela to finisterre, because apparently i relax by doing mildly extreme things. being outside has always been how i reset, and it felt like the right way to get into the highest point mindset.

thank you for all the love last month. we’re still kind of in awe that you’re out there reading and loving these characters with us. it means more than we can say.♥️
