@sandboxmovie.sg and @dreamstallmovie watched @pace_movie so, @justjunxiang gathered us to return the energy. It’s some of our first and some of our second watching The Sandbox. Personally savouring this moment as many Singaporean films are out in cinemas at the same time.

Every character relates to The Sandbox differently. I tell you, you watch, I think u gonna find urself in one of the superheroes-in-training. Also, that mother rabak @khenghua . Just support your daughter bro @xuanniiex . U look rich, just fund your daughter’s dreams lah. Then u become rich for what? Even @fauziazzhar character have to have stable job to fund his passion. Let your daughter become a well-adjusted nepo baby. That part I triggered.

Anyway, if you crave to watch something about taking the hits and being intoxicatingly positive while at it, @jamesthooyc The Sandbox is for you. In cinemas now. Sometimes, passion made possible. Sometimes, passion not possible. Sometimes, passion takes a pause and we see what’s possible.

It takes quite a lot to get us into a cinema on a Friday night these days. But apparently, a film about a dysfunctional Singaporean stunt studio is one of those things.

With its wonderfully eccentric ensemble, mockumentary wit and a scene-stealing Oon Shu An (@oonshuan), ‘The Sandbox’ (@sandboxmovie.sg) is a refreshing reminder of just how much comedic talent we have in our own backyard.

But beyond the laughs, first-time director James Thoo (@jamesthooyc)’s film makes a compelling case for a different kind of Singaporean comedy—one that trades formulaic punchlines for deadpan humour, workplace absurdities and characters who take themselves far more seriously than they probably should.

Is it perfect? Not quite. Is it worth watching? Absolutely.

Swipe for our take on The Sandbox (now showing in Shaw Theatres islandwide), and head to the link in our bio to read the full review!

The Sandbox is out in cinemas now!
Beat the haze, stay indoors, and get tickets to catch this chaotic comedy that’s rooted in so much heart and hard truths about chasing your dreams.
I am so grateful that I got to be a part of this incredible village of superheroes both on and off camera!
Now go fill those halls!!

Cast of Sandbox movie just caught Pace with @annettelee and @matlee2 💖

I watched this for the second time and I absolutely still love how this reform drama paid attention with close detail in every single person’s story. I feel like sometimes in life, we all need to look towards each other more often than not.

And I’m STILL STILL obsessed with how @jonathan77 portrayed visually… the PTSD through @thedesmondtan’s character. It’s like this silent but also loud screech in my head whenever I go through my own PTSD also. Honestly, I feel seen.. I feel heard… 😭🥴⚠️ Of course the entire film was super wholesome too, with a lot of heart in it.

Thanks to everyone who came down today. I love uuuu! ❤️
