It is always so exhilarating to hear. This film is for everyone who has tried, everyone who has desired, a little bit more, from life. This entire cast and crew has my entire heart. It takes very little to make me feel so whole, I know, but I really mean it. Every single one of them, dreamers, doers. The very people the film champions. WE HAVE A DATE - 18TH SEPTEMBER 2025 In various cinemas island wide!!! @wecansavetheworld.movie premiered at @newyorkasianfilmfestival last month. Told myself I’ll only post about this when we have a confirmed release date in Singapore. Our love letter to the version of Singapore we live in!!! The best folks at NYAFF chose this as the only Singaporean film this year. Chuffed. Shook. My director made a joke in an interview about how some people might not be too happy that this strange unhinged scifi comedy is at NYAFF to rep SG??? Hahahaha. I think about all the times Singaporean films, heck, Singaporean art - find an audience overseas, but come home to crickets. Somewhere along the way, I started to wonder, how come my home doesn’t choose me but other people do? This β€œchoosing” is about support, nurture, love, encouragement, showing up. It is about being there before something proves itself β€œworth it”. But I am stubbornly optimistic about this one. First movie (feature film) gala premiere ✨☝🏼 I honestly never thought this day would happen. At the age of 13, I started my journey as a theatre student. 9 years later at 22 years old, I graduated from acting school. You spend so long doing one single thing, chasing after one dream… never giving yourself a chance for an alternate future… they call it impulsive, I think I was just extremely tunnel-visioned like a maniac. Since graduating in 2018, I have treasured and cherished every project… from the indie to the mainstream, from the stage to the screen. I loved them all. Thankful for them all. But after awhile I thought maybe I am just the kind of actor nobody would know, or care, or support…or so I thought. Dreaming big seems silly. My world wasn’t very big. But I love my job. Acting impassions me. Someone like me? Who am I? Who will believe in this small girl? θ°ηœ‹εΎ—εˆ°ε•ŠοΌŸ But my absolutely brilliant director @grace.wukejia did. She believed. πŸ₯Ή ζ°ΈθΏœζ„Ÿζ©β€¦ 谒谒你导演❀️ Friday night, I watched on as the incredible cast and crew’s work of love and labor translated onto the screen with pure honesty. Eternally grateful to @mochachai production team led by the wonderful @myshchang without whom we literally don’t have a film (shoutout to all the familiar faces/ friends on set who worked damn hard, day in day out @yijiadoesthings @geralchan @ginawhines @_kahhwee @uncle_rey and so many more I don’t have on IG) and of course @cloverfilmssg for stopping at nothing to let the film reach more people. Thank you @scffest for letting us open the festival!!! And as always, thank you to my manager @ahundred_ants ❀️ for putting up with meπŸ™ƒ The cast is honestly stellar, the movie is, objectively, a must watch. A socially urgent film about life, grief, love, kinship, motherhood and so much more. 12.05.23. Mark your cals. Snag those tickets babes. PS. If the first pic looks strange, it’s coz I actually FORGOT about taking a solo shot so I had to photoshop myself in hahaha πŸ€ͺ AND I DIDNT TAKE PICS W SO MANY PPL!!!πŸ₯Ή I am a lucky girl ⭐️ I promise to work even harder. @megancirl X @sandboxtrainingground made possible by @sandboxmovie.sg Megan made everything a photo op coz she wants to immortalise this place. She sat on the raised platform where @pepsgoh taught everyone how to fall backwards but she didn’t dare to do it until her classmates chanted β€œMegan Megan Megan”. Megan is also deeply grateful to the entire team in front of and behind the camera. She couldn’t believe she manifested this shit. #MeganManifests Peps also taught Megan how to use & lift weights for the first time here. She also proclaims Syafiq as her best friend coz they were dressed as Barbie & Ken duh. Wanted to post this lil scene from Thank You, Daisy (2024) @thankyoudaisyfilm for the longest time but needed to wait for enough time to pass and for the screenings to all be over 😘 Before we were Jordana & Jeraldine, we were first Jasmine and Daisy. 🌼 With this film, @hookstyle & @carlamari1 brought us to our first entry into competition at SGIFF that year, we got to walk the carpet together & went to Silver Screen Awards together for our nominations. 2024 was a milestone year for sure. WE CAN SAVE THE WORLD!!! Singapore Premiere. πŸ‡ΈπŸ‡¬πŸ‘½πŸ›Έ 8 years ago I binged Average Guys because @junvinht was my senior in school. I became a massive fan of @chchchchaihong . 7 years ago my classmates and I invited the whole team from Average Guys to our grad show. After the show, the sweetest @fauziazzhar stayed to speak to each of us. I was enamored by his candor and warmth. 2 years ago, at the premiere of Titoudao Season 2, I sat beside @onlynoah . We said to each other at the buffet line - β€œeh u damn good. Someday I hope to work with you sia.” Later that year, the crowdfunding campaign for @wecansavetheworld.movie was ALL OVER my Instagram. I watched their video over and over and shared it widely, because the messaging of their fundraising campaign moved me deeply. I sat down in church one day with my friends @coolgirl_95 and @la_khookaracha . β€œEh, today we met a damn cool local director at my friend’s thrift shop. He’s raising funds for his first movie.” β€œHUH??? IS HIS NAME CHAIHONG?” β€œYar, eh so u gonna audition for the film or not?” β€œIdk, maybe he cast liao, haha.” My heart pounded. I hope not. Last year, in January, I finally walked into the audition room. I could hear my heart hammering against my chest. Shit. I want this so bad. All or nothing. Will they cast against type ??? Against followers count??? 😭 I got the text one evening on my way to a rehearsal, in a grab car. β€œThey would like to confirm you…” I didn’t even read the rest of the details. Coz I’ll do anything. If you ask me on a deeper level what this film means to me, this is it. These people, these memories, this level of unconscious manifesting, this intense desire to work with people I am in awe of, good people with the purest of intentions and passionate idealism. Biggest shoutout to the raddest, kindest, most hardworking core team of producers @yijiadoesthings @helloitsjiamin @martinlohh !!! & my management - @facestm @philotheal @melina.lee1010 !!! And thank YOU, for going to the cinema!!! (STILL SHOWING!!!) All glory to the One who has authored all the pages of my life.
