Why Young Baseball Players Must Attack the Ball: We talk about why young baseball players, especially ages five to eight, need to be aggressive and attack the ball. I explain the importance of coiling into a power position and using physics to drive the ball, avoiding leaning back which causes loss of power and weak hits. #BaseballTips #YouthBaseball #HittingMechanics #BaseballCoaching #treydurden

Understanding the Vestibular System: Coordination, ADHD, and Cerebellar Hypometria: We talk about the vestibular system and its role in coordinating movement of the eyes, head, and body. We discuss how issues like ADHD or cerebellar hypometria can cause false starts and difficulty inhibiting movement, using a football analogy to illustrate the consequences. We cover the three key components: sensory input (eyes, ears, spine, body), central processing, and motor output, emphasizing the three senses of vision, balance, and proprioception. #VestibularSystem #Coordination #ADHD #CerebellarHypometria #treydurden

The Truth About Vitamin D: Why High Doses Didn’t Help Absorb Calcium: We discuss the critical role of vitamin D in calcium absorption, bone health, immune function, and muscle performance. I explain why high doses may not always work and emphasize the importance of getting serious about vitamin D for everyone, from kids to athletes to the elderly. #VitaminD #CalciumAbsorption #BoneHealth #ImmuneBoost #treydurden

Strengthening Leg Stability in the Golf Swing: We talk about improving leg strength and stability in the golf swing, focusing on keeping knees apart during the downswing to prevent collapse. We explain the complexity of the golf swing with over 1,132 moving parts and emphasize using visual brain and feel over conscious repetition. For Jack, we use a feel of knees pushing apart and visualization to enhance swing function and brain improvement. #GolfSwing #LegStability #GolfTips #SwingMechanics #treydurden

The Cerebellum: Neuron-Rich and Beyond Motor Functions: We talk about the cerebellum’s high neuron density, containing 80% of the brain’s neurons, and its role in non-motor functions like emotions, language, and cognition. We also discuss the four deep cerebellar nuclei, especially the dentate nucleus, which represents the hand and foot. #Cerebellum #Neuroscience #BrainFunction #MotorControl #treydurden

The Vestibular System and Postural Control: A Courtroom Demo: We talk about the importance of the vestibular system in controlling posture and body stability, using a courtroom demonstration and a personal hurricane experience to illustrate how reflexes keep us upright against external forces. #VestibularSystem #PosturalControl #Reflexes #BodyStability #treydurden

The Science of Hitting: How Pro Baseball Players Track Pitches: We talk about how professional baseball players use saccadic eye movements to track pitches, focusing on the elbow and wrist to predict pitch type, unlike normal people who saccade all over the pitcher. #Baseball #SaccadicEyeMovement #PitchTracking #ProBaseball #treydurden

New Brain Analysis Report Page on FXN Website: We introduce a new page on the FXN website where users can learn about brain analysis. I explain how to access it, fill out a 25-question questionnaire including age and injury details, and how my calculations estimate therapy duration for near-full recovery. I share my testing with myself and other patients, and describe how the tool visualizes brain lesions based on reported problems like overthinking. #BrainAnalysis #FunctionalNeurology #FXN #BrainHealth #treydurden

Understanding Autism and Right Hemisphere Weakness: A Neuroimaging Perspective: We discuss a neuroimaging study from the University of London, conducted over 20 years ago, which found that people with autism have difficulty relating to others due to poor communication between brain areas. We explore the idea that in autism, ADD, ADHD, and Asperger’s, the right hemisphere is underactive, leading to potential issues like weak left cerebellum, leftward spinning, and the need for left-side body exercises. We question whether these interventions can improve balance, speech, eye movements, and stability, and connect this to theories of mind and lack of coherence from the 1990s, suggesting autistic individuals may be stuck in a logical, detail-focused processing mode. #Autism #Neuroimaging #RightHemisphere #BrainHealth #treydurden
