✨ Do you feel like God is everywhere we go, or is the devil lurking around? 🤔
Faith can truly guide us through life’s challenges! I’m excited to share my follow-up single “Faith” from my 2nd solo album “Champs Of The Spirit.” 🎤 This track contrasts with my previous song “We Must Do Better,” where the chorus states, “The Devil Is Everywhere We Go.” Now, it’s time to focus on the light!
Listen to “Faith” on Apple Music, Spotify, and YouTube Music! 🎵

D.C. Attorney General Brian Schwalb has a strange set of priorities: last year, he dropped all charges against the white supremacist Oath Keepers and Proud Boys members who participated in the violent insurrection at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021. But now, he is wasting taxpayer dollars trying to block the mother of Deon Kay from getting a cash payment for her son’s murder by D.C. police in 2020.

In 2020, 18-year-old Deon Kay was murdered by MPD officer Alexander Alvarez in Southeast D.C. Last year, a jury of the D.C. Superior Court ruled in favor of a wrongful death lawsuit filed by Kay’s mother and granted the family a cash payment - a ruling Schwalb is now appealing.

Under the U.S. capitalist system, there are two systems of justice: one for the working class and oppressed, and another for the ruling class and its servants. A working-class Black family can be allowed no recompense, but participants in Donald Trump’s coup attempt aren’t worth the smoke for the D.C. District Attorney to prosecute.

We need a new system, one that holds racist police and racist insurrectionists accountable for their crimes - one that stands on the side of Black and working-class families. One that would spare no expense to pursue justice for Deon Kay and all victims of racist police terror.

Deon Kay’s family should not still have to fight for justice.

A jury found MPD Officer Alexander Alvarez responsible for killing Deon Kay and awarded his family a judgment. A judge upheld that verdict. But DC Attorney General Brian Schwalb is still appealing the case, using taxpayer dollars to continue a legal fight against Deon’s family while interest on the judgment grows.

On Tuesday, August 18 at 6 PM, we’re gathering in Congress Heights as a community to stand with Deon’s family. Join families, neighbors, and freedom fighters for an evening of lament, prayer, community, and a collective call for justice.

We are calling on @DCAttorneyGeneralBrian Schwalb to withdraw the appeal and respect the verdict in Deon Kay’s case.

And we need you in this fight.

It is our responsibility to show up for our communities — to make sure our neighbors know their rights, understand the resources available to them, and feel supported.

It is also our responsibility to guide and uplift our young people by reminding them about respect, accountability, and how to conduct themselves in public spaces. Our communities are strongest when we look out for one another, educate each other, and create an environment where everyone feels safe and respected. #fyp #washingtondc #racialprofiling
