Back In April when @yakovitch was deemed not guilty on all charges. You can ask him yourself as to what the charges were to begin with…. While you’re at it, you can also pick up his zine which seems to take a cathartic approach to the whole ordeal. To celebrate the good news we destroyed an effigy MEXICAN STYLE (aka smashing a piñata). #XPRO1 #FUCKAJOB #SMDFTB AND #ACAB

Summer came and went.

Sometimes I wondered what it would be like if I got to share my summer with hers. Maybe we'd go to places where the crowds are drawn at, run towards the shade to avoid dizzyspells from the heated summer, maybe find interesting spots to take pictures at or just talk after all the festivities.

In Antagonizer, the debut zine from Yako, we are given an on the ground, photo journalistic inside view on the plague of the oppressive state on a local community and society at large. Yako’s photo documentation shows the hurdles and challenges many resistance movements face from the acting authorities, crowd corralling violence, tear gas deployment, projectiles being shot at bystanders, and the unlawful arrests of many. A product of the community’s use of rightful civil disobedience to speak on forever pressing issues, immigrant and human rights, unjust wars scapegoated with political and religious rhetoric, but that are meant to profit the rich and further divide the working classes of the world. The photos don’t hold back, they are gritty, rough, and right in the face of those who oppress. Although touching on the confrontational nature, Yako does a beautiful job of also showing one of the most important aspects of any resistance movement, the community itself. Through images of culture gatherings and being with loved ones and friends, we are reminded why we fight and speak up in the first place. This zine is a must have, cathartic experience and a reminder of why we must speak for those who can’t. In the words of Yako, Free Palestine, Free Congo, Free Sudan, Fuck the DA, Fuck ICE, and Fuck Amezcua. 1312.
