Almost a week ago I was in a privileged position to be able to speak publicly, from the heart, to a room full of women.

I spoke about personal things, and I spoke about professional things.

My intention was to bring groundedness, playfulness, emotional attunement and hopefully some curiosity and education into the room.

Understanding, openness and a desire to act all begins with connection, story and authenticity.

Each woman that spoke on Saturday brought themselves fully to the stage and allowed every person in the room to feel something.

We hope our words left some sort of an impact as we continue to raise awareness related to the varied and complex experiences of women and girls here in Australia, and also with our specific cause in Nepal 💜

This is what it looks like when you get to do something you genuinely love. 🥹

A room filled with connection, laughter, emotion, meaningful conversations and women showing up for something bigger than themselves.

There’s a different kind of energy that comes from doing something you truly love. From creating something you believe in and then getting to stand amongst it as it comes to life.

So proud of what @joanneomer and I have created with @shemoves_society and what we will continue to build together.

What a day. What a room. What a privilege. 🩷

Standing there, pregnant with one child and already a mother to another, this hit differently.

There are some realities I will never be able to comprehend as a mother. What some children are forced to endure is one of them.

I may never fully understand it. But I can use my voice to make sure their stories are not ignored.

For the children of Marici. May we keep raising awareness, speaking their names into spaces they cannot yet reach, and reminding the world that they matter. 🩷

60 women. One room. So many stories, conversations, laughs, tears and moments of connection. 💜

Yesterday, 60 women gathered for @shemoves_society and there is so much to take in from what unfolded.

She Moves Society is something @joanneomer and @taya.stavrou have poured so much into creating together. From the conversations and ideas to the planning, organising and bringing every detail together, seeing a room filled with women connecting, sharing and showing up with purpose made it all worth it.

To every woman who joined us, our incredible speakers who trusted the space and shared their stories, wisdom and truth, our team who supported the day, and our generous sponsors and donors who believed in what was being created, thank you. You each played a part in making the day what it was.

Because She Moves Society has always been about more than an event.

It is about women gathering, connecting and being inspired by real women sharing real stories, while using that collective presence to bring awareness to something bigger than ourselves.

Together, we raised important awareness for Marici and the work being done to support children who have experienced exploitation and trafficking.

Through this partnership, we are helping create opportunities for young girls to experience safe, trauma-informed therapeutic movement, supporting them to reconnect with their bodies, express emotion and rebuild a sense of safety, choice and connection.

Every ticket purchased, every conversation started, every silent auction bid, every donation and every person who walked away knowing more about this work created a ripple beyond that room.

60 women gathered with purpose and have impacted children they may never meet.

This is true humanity.

This is why we gather.

And we will continue together!
