POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Newest painting.." Late Night Rendezvous." Spent a short period of my time being a host for a pub/watering hole. Keeping my eye out on the guests/patrons. Met many like minded souls & experienced some unruly guests. Some stories to tell. Goes with the territory in these environments. Just a memory for me now. Overall, it's a perfect "go to place" at night to let loose for a congregation with friends, family, associates etc. As an expressionist in metamodernism, I paint back my feelings & experiences. Outpouring raw emotions & framework onto a canvas. 🍂☠️🎨☠️🍂

Name: Late Night Rendezvous

You know about the Whyte Avenue Art Walk. You may have heard about Chiseled. But did you know that they are produced by the same company? And that we do even more exciting events and programming?

Hello 👋 We are Activate Arts Alberta—a non-profit arts organization that strives to bring beauty, art, and inspiration to communities. We are the producers of the Whyte Avenue Art Walk, Chiseled (Edmonton’s Ice Carving Exhibition), and we also offer a number of services for winter activations like ice slides, mazes, and sculptures, as well as activities and programming across Alberta.

We were formerly the Ice On Whyte Festival Society, however in 2022 we recognized the need for a name that better reflected our evolving mission. Thus, we rebranded as Activate Arts Alberta—a name we felt encapsulated our broader reach, dynamic programming, and commitment to fostering year-round visual arts activations.

With a deep appreciation for advancing public appreciation of the arts, we strive to create outdoor spaces where creativity thrives, and winter is embraced!

I drew this one at @yegartwalk, and I knew the simplicity of the drawing was calling out for a complex gradient colour treatment, and I love how it pairs with one of my faves from earlier this year. I’ve got one more drawn to go in this series — looking forward to giving it a rainbow gradient too!
