swipe for bts 🤭 last time I saw linda I dressed her up in garbage bags. This time I was like....how do you feel about becoming a lamp?? (linda you make a fabulous lamp ✨️)

I've also been knocked off my feet as I hibernate through this pregnancy (I'm a literal bear) so we're enjoying this january side quest shoot in september 🤷‍♀️ @yellow_psd puts up with way too much from me but we have a good time!

Congratulations to our “Adventure” theme micro-grant winner, Linda Cameron.

When inspiration struck from a simple moment of her sons playing pretend on the furniture, Linda didn’t hesitate; she dragged her son’s bed out to the driveway and turned imagination into art. Although she received some strange looks for the display, she didn’t care. She shares, “Capturing their reactions on the bed was well worth the embarrassment,” she shares. “My boys still talk about this photoshoot and sometimes ask if we can bring out their bed again for more pictures. If the bed didn’t weigh a thousand pounds, I’d say yes.”

As for shooting outside? That was intentional. Linda shares, “One reason was to get the gorgeous cloudy soft light since I had neutral light in mind for the image. But the other reason was because my kids don’t do well in studio settings. I wanted them to be genuine in front of the camera, so in order to do that, I had them pose for me outside so I could capture these moments. So that’s ultimately why I took pictures in our front yard.”

Linda Cameron (@yellow_psd) is a self-taught composite fine art photographer based in Utah who has been crafting imaginative visual stories since she was sixteen. What began on message boards and with borrowed software has transformed into an award-winning career.

For Linda, photography isn’t just a creative outlet—it’s her sanctuary. As a full-time student and mom of three, her quiet, late-night editing sessions are sacred. “It’s what I do for fun. It’s my creative escape,” she shares. It’s where she reconnects with herself beyond the busyness of life.

Her style is deeply imaginative, often sparked by thrifted treasures and meaningful locations. She shares that inspiration can be found anywhere and says, “Good locations and props are everything. A beautiful spot can tell a hundred different stories. And props? There’s a reason why my laundry room has more props than actual clothes. Thrifting is my second love- there’s something magical about finding that one item that sends your imagination spinning.”

Hey all! My name is Linda and I am taking over @dearphotographer_ig for the week. I am a composite photographer located in the northern Utah area.

Some fun things about me:

1. I’ve been compositing for over 18 years now! My neighbor let me borrow his Photoshop copy when I was in high school, and I instantly fell in love with my craft. Back then, compositing was a very new thing and largely unheard of. So it’s been such a joy to see more people join the composite world.

2. I’m living the mom life! I’m happily married to my bff and we have three little kids. I love them to pieces and they are my everything. Mothering is totally hard work tho. 😅🤣

3. I’m a terrible baker. I want to desperately be good at making cakes or anything British Bake Off makes, but I burn everything in the kitchen. 🤪

4. Because I composite, I take photos of EVERYTHING. So that means fire hydrants, clouds, birds, etc. I get the weirdest looks sometimes but I roll with it. I try to use my own photography in everything I create, so that requires a lot of random photos.

5. I can be found exploring, reading, or playing video games during my free time. I’m a simple creature. 💕
