🔟 Counting down to the 10th edition of MUTEK.JP in 2025, we’re revisiting 9 years of festival memories. ✨ For its third edition in 2018, MUTEK.JP scaled up in every direction. From November 1–4, the festival returned to Miraikan while expanding its footprint across Tokyo with key performances in Shibuya’s WWW / WWW X and a massive all-nighter at UNIT in Ebisu. 🚀 This was one of the boldest editions yet—a powerful celebration of cutting-edge audiovisual works, deep sonic experimentation, and cross-cultural dialogue. The 4-day program brought together some of the most visionary voices in electronic music and digital art, cementing MUTEK.JP’s place in Tokyo’s cultural landscape. 1. machìna & Shohei Fujimoto (KR+JP) 2. NONOTAK (FR/JP) 3. X-102 (Jeff Mills & Mike Banks) (US) 4. Kyoka (JP) 5. Still Be Here ft. Hatsune Miku (JP) 6. jan & naomi (JP) 7. Synichi Yamamoto + Seiichi Sega & Intercity-Express (JP) 8. Paul Jebanasam & Tarik Barri (UK+NL) 9. Joanie Lemercier & James Ginzburg (BE/FR+UK) 10. Sapphire Slows (JP) More memories incoming… 👀 #mutekjp10 #mutekjp #mutek #tokyo #japan #odaiba #miraikan #shibuya #ebisu #audiovisual #digitalart #futurefrequencies

Last tickets for my 180 Minutes show @zenner.berlin Thursday September 24! It’s a serious production, involving Kay Sievers’ incredible @versioduo mechanical instruments: Viola-1, Glockenspiel-37, Hi-Hats.. In addition to 180 Minutes on Thursday, Discrete Ensemble will be open to the public at Zenner on September 22 and 23 from 4-9 PM. Discrete Ensemble is a sound installation for eight custom built MIDI-controlled mechanical string instruments, spread widely throughout the room. Sharing some videos from our last installation in Scotland at the Hamilton Mausoleum to give you an idea. It’s an immersive experience, and we wanted you to see and hear it outside of the busy evening event on Thursday. Come down and say hello :) For Thursday, I’ve invited two special guests: Temple Rat @meiyuxinmay will be joining the ensemble with her Erhu (a Classical Chinese string instrument) for a special performance mediating between tradition and technology. machìna @yeoheemusic will perform a solo set from her latest ‘Wonder’ project, and we will also play a short piece together. I can’t wait to show you what we’ve got planned. Tickets in bio.. hope to see you there ❤️
