flowers never die 🥀 earlier this year i was looking through a korean dictionary with my mum and found ‘여희’ my name with the meaning ‘꽃술’, the very centre of a flower. those flowers somehow all bloomed in my first home of my own in berlin and somewhere along the way i became clearer about who i am and what i want to be. heading back to asia for another tour now i feel a little richer. a little lighter. and somehow genuinely happy was it worth it? 100% yes how did we do? 100% in would you do it again? absolutely thank you, berlin see you at year-end my room “dream girl” lyrics taken from an old letter from patrick post-zenner at sam’s with kay and mei underground sleepless nights during my beauty trip for mikimoto, showing off my grillz first time in vilnius with my beloved ableton voice memo fragments from “2122” one and only buchla birds in c–c♯ rave the planet two shows at rso! routine semo’s birthday with auntie manami daily workout heat hits; a solid 39° semo’s adventure (again) (sorry) 38✨ by @yeoheemusic

nothing to everything when i first imagined this wonder series earlier this year i was simply wondering where it might take me next. music somehow always seems to do that for me. then the very next day i received an email from marcus about supporting barker’s 180 minutes at zenner. last thursday i felt so grateful to bring wonder into a world that had been created with such care. the sound. the space. the people. sam and kay. thank you for welcoming me into it. working and performing alongside you felt incredibly open and generous. there was so much warmth in the room and i felt very lucky to experience it from within. it reminded me again how important it is to stay close to the pure intention behind making art. when people trust each other and remain open to what can happen together something beyond the original idea can emerge. and sometimes it brings an incredible amount of joy. thank you barker and the whole team for the trust and for making space for wonder within your 180 minutes. thank you to the zenner team for all the support and care throughout the night: @barker_volteklabs @versioduo @marcus_237_littlebig @meiyuxinmay @zenner.berlin i’m deeply grateful to have been part of it. still wondering.., machìna photography @sher.io thanks paul, marc and nyron for sharing the videos :) taken in ZENNER by @yeoheemusic

Last tickets for my 180 Minutes show @zenner.berlin Thursday September 24! It’s a serious production, involving Kay Sievers’ incredible @versioduo mechanical instruments: Viola-1, Glockenspiel-37, Hi-Hats.. In addition to 180 Minutes on Thursday, Discrete Ensemble will be open to the public at Zenner on September 22 and 23 from 4-9 PM. Discrete Ensemble is a sound installation for eight custom built MIDI-controlled mechanical string instruments, spread widely throughout the room. Sharing some videos from our last installation in Scotland at the Hamilton Mausoleum to give you an idea. It’s an immersive experience, and we wanted you to see and hear it outside of the busy evening event on Thursday. Come down and say hello :) For Thursday, I’ve invited two special guests: Temple Rat @meiyuxinmay will be joining the ensemble with her Erhu (a Classical Chinese string instrument) for a special performance mediating between tradition and technology. machìna @yeoheemusic will perform a solo set from her latest ‘Wonder’ project, and we will also play a short piece together. my room video, taken from Wonder III. Both pieces from Wonder III were captured using Discrete Ensemble’s Glockenspiel-37, part of a sound installation by Sam Barker and Kay Sievers. This version was made to give the machine’s resonance, colour, and fragile movement more space. Big love and thanks to Sam (@barker_volteklabs)and Kay (@versioduo) for the chance to record and play with this beautiful instrument. My first live presentation of Wonder will take place at Zenner (@zenner.berlin) on September 24, as part of Barker’s 180 Minutes concert. I’m grateful. by @yeoheemusic

For our next edition of 180 Minutes, machìna will be supporting Barker with a live presentation of ‘Wonder’, her new serialised project centred around her own voice and the Buchla Music Easel. Moving through memory, dream, perception, and raw analogue textures, Wonder explores how electronic music can hold an emotional and intimate form while remaining physical, precise, and machine-led. After spending a decade in Tokyo, this performance marks one of machìna’s first presentations of Wonder in Berlin — bringing the project into a new live context.
