This photo adventure started out pretty rough. The first location I selected was on the cusp of the marine layer, the front between warm land air and frigid ocean air was smacking into the beach with winds upwards of 30mph. I even broke another light stand! So we bailed to Option B, one of my favorite beaches in all of Oregon where the marine layer had already passed by and the breeze was mild at best. The sun was just lowering below the fog layer enough to give us some warmer light, but my light assistants helped me fill in the ambience with some good old fashioned off camera flash in my 48” softbox. The scene is real though, Oregon beaches are just this gorgeous when they aren’t spongy with rain, which is also frequent.
.
The pirate being lured into oceanic temptation is @yetigt , the irresistible mermaid is his young wife, @littlebrittanyb who is one of two friends I have who identify with Mermaid Life maybe more than their legs, it’s an entire lifestyle! And she blended perfectly into the dramatic coastal beauty.

Shot with 35mm and 85mm prime @sigmaphoto Art lenses and a @godoxlighting ad400pro as the off camera flash in the above mentioned 48” octabox.

ᴛᴡᴏ ʏᴇᴀʀs ᴄʟᴏsᴇʀ ᴛᴏ ғᴏʀᴇᴠᴇʀ 🖤

Two years ago we walked into the California Redwoods with a few people and some big promises, and it was the best decision I have ever made. I am often awestruck by how lucky I am to get to be the person that spends my life with you, my great love.

Here’s to another year of laughter, adventure, and growing together.

Happy Anniversary, @yetigt . I love you more 🖤

sᴏ ʟᴏɴɢ @dragoncon ✨✌🏽

I have had the pleasure of attending 3 years of DragonCon and this year was honestly the best yet. While I’m sure I’ll be sorting through photos for the next 7-10 business days, the memories will live rent free in my head until we return.

I am so beyond thankful to have such a great husband that will take me to do nerdy things with our friends.

Until we meet again, my friends🖤

2017. One guys trip. Ten years later didn’t realize it’d be a life long friendship. Individually, we are boys, but together we are Bronichiwa, reunited after years apart, together again at last… for embarrassingly whatever this is

ᴛᴏ ʟᴏᴠᴇ & ʙᴇ ʟᴏᴠᴇᴅ ɪɴ ʀᴇᴛᴜʀɴ🖤

This summer I have had a few folks tell me how cute we are together and that they can see how much we love one another. It hasn’t occurred to me that people actually pay us any mind on abyss that is the internet. We just love the heck out of one another and I’m glad y’all can see that. 🥰

@yetigt waded into 30 something degree water to take these photos with me over the weekend (almost destroying his phone in the process). Not only is he a top notch husband, he continually proves that if someone wants to, they will. Also, doesn’t he make the most handsome pirate? 🏴‍☠️😍

Sometimes the biggest blessing of all is having someone who loves you back unconditionally. I am so grateful to be the person who gets to love Alex every day 🥹.

This shoot was so far the only time I was asked to be there for a retirement of a cosplay, but that’s exactly how this shoot was planned. @deeladesigns knew her Aldrich cosplay was at the end, so she asked @yetigt and I to help her with one final shoot before it disintegrated before our eyes. Yes, it was that close to done 😆
.
This final shoot really was pretty epic and it’s always nice when you don’t care how muddy the cosplay gets anymore, which did open up some extra possibilities as the sun was setting over a muddy field.
.
I think more cosplayers should consider cosplay retirement shoots, it’s a great way to thin the closet and also respectfully end a cosplay life chapter so you can move on to current and future builds. And you can get really dirty and not mind at all. 😁

ᴍʏ ғᴀᴠᴏʀɪᴛᴇ ᴇᴠᴇʀʏᴛʜɪɴɢ ✨🍃

Any time I talk about my husband @yetigt , I’m still floored that I get to live this life with my favorite person. Another year of @canterburyrenaissancefaire has come and gone and I’m so thankful to have such a phenomenally supportive spouse that does all the things with me. Life really is better when you get to live it with your best friend 🥰

Also peep the new shirt he got to match my skirt from @barocco_tribal 😍.

Oh how blessed we are to have friendships worth flying for. On our European adventure, I demanded to go to London to see the one and only @katzcreates 🖤. We laughed, we ate tacos and had a grand time 🌮 🥰. Somewhere in my head, we’re still dancing around Chinatown and laughing ourselves silly.

Don’t worry London, as long as Allie lives there, I’ll be back 😜
