A Letter from Meridith: "New Year, New You"

Isn’t that what we’ve been taught to chase every year?

For years, my version of that meant extremes - holidays of indulgence followed by rigid rules, unrealistic goals, and a lot of self-criticism when I couldn’t keep up. I told myself change had to be hard to count. And when I slipped, I started over… again and again.

What finally changed wasn’t my willpower, it was my mindset.

I learned that consistency beats intensity. Real change doesn’t come from all-or-nothing thinking. It comes from small, steady shifts, the kind you can actually sustain.

Preparedness became a non-negotiable for me. Having nourishing food ready when life gets busy. Making time for movement every day, even if it looks different each time. And practicing mindfulness - replacing judgment with curiosity when things don’t go perfectly.

When I stopped asking “Why did I mess up?” and started asking “Why do I feel pulled in this direction?” everything changed.

So this year, I’m not chasing a new version of myself. I’m committing to small, thoughtful choices, done consistently, with grace.

A 1-degree shift is enough.
And it’s a whole lot more sustainable.

In good health,
Meridith 🤍

A Letter from Meridith: January Burnout ⚡️🪫

January has a way of asking a lot of us. After a full year - and a very full holiday season - many moms (and caregivers in general) are starting the new year already feeling depleted.

And the first thing that tends to slip when life feels full is personal wellness. Suddenly, movement feels optional, nutrition becomes reactive and you wake up feeling tired before the day even starts.

That’s when the spiral can begin.

When stress lingers, hormones can fall out of balance. Cortisol rises, blood sugar fluctuates, energy drops and the body struggles to make use of the nourishment it’s getting. This isn’t a lack of discipline - it’s biology. And in moments like this, the goal isn’t perfection, it’s support.

During my busiest years, what helped most was having simple, nutrient-dense food ready before I needed it. That’s where adaptogens became part of my routine and eventually, part of our YEU On-the-Go Bites.

Adaptogens are natural plants and compounds that support the body’s stress response, helping regulate cortisol and gently guide the body back toward balance. Each one works a little differently, which is why we thoughtfully include a variety in our YEU Bites:

• Activated Charcoal to support detox after overindulging
• Ashwagandha to help calm stress and anxiety
• Blue Spirulina for antioxidant support
• Rhodiola to support energy and stamina
• Turmeric & Ginger to help manage inflammation
• Tulsi (Holy Basil) to support immunity when you’re feeling run down

Rebalancing doesn’t happen overnight - it happens one small choice at a time.

January isn’t about fixing yourself. It’s about gently returning to what supports you. Nourishing food, rest, movement and connection all matter — and when life makes those things harder to maintain, a simple, intentional snack can be a meaningful place to start.

If you’re easing your way back into routine this month, I hope our YEU On-the-Go Bites can be a small part of that reset. Your body knows how to find balance - sometimes it just needs the right support.

A Letter from Meridith: Snacking Smart

These days, more of us are reaching for smaller portions that deliver more — more protein, more fiber, more nutrients and more satisfaction. The food world is full of options… which can make choosing the right snack feel overwhelming.

My philosophy: it’s all about harmonizing your macros every time you eat. Here's how to do it:

1️⃣ Go Homemade (or Close to It)
The best snacks don’t need a label. Fresh fruit, nuts, vegetables or simple homemade combos like apple slices with almond butter, hummus with veggies or trail mix are all winners. If homemade isn’t an option, look for snacks that are nutrient-dense, made from whole ingredients and preservative-free.

That’s exactly what @yeu_snacks are: seeds, nuts, natural sweetness and zero processed junk.

2️⃣ Get Ingredient-Savvy
When you need a packaged snack, read the label. If you don’t recognize the ingredients, put it back. If sugar is first, that’s a red flag. Avoid seed oils, preservatives, gums and added sugars disguised as anything ending in “-ose” or syrups. The simpler and cleaner, the better.

3️⃣ Mindful Treating
Snacking doesn’t need to be “good” or “bad.” When you choose ingredients that support your body and bring you joy, you can enjoy something sweet without guilt.

4️⃣ It’s All About Balance
When you fuel your body with real, balanced snacks, you’ll notice the difference in energy, focus and mood. A simple apple with some protein or nuts can keep you going for hours - far better than a sugary pastry that spikes and crashes.

So next time you reach for something quick, make it something smart, satisfying and nourishing. Your body will thank you - and so will your day.
