South Creek was first mentioned to me by David Reid nearly a decade ago, and every time I’d run into him, the conversation would go something like this:

“Have you gone and had a look at South Creek yet?”

“What’s it like?”

“We used to do it after work!” (Probably not true, given it took us five hours with modern gear and a shortened run.)

“Why did you stop running it?”

“Massive landslide at the top, but it should still be good.” (And it certainly was! Maybe the best steep creek in the Sea to Sky!!)

“Anything else we should look at, Dave?”

“North Creek. We tried it, but it was full of logs. You should still check it out!” (Maybe next season’s adventure?)

South Creek is an absolute gem of a river. Steep, adventurous and mostly clean, with a spectacular canyon we’ll definitely need to revisit!

🌱🌎 We just took home the 2027 Sustainability Award from The Paddle Sports Show!

🧵🪡Designing and crafting paddling gear under our own roof means we get to choose how it’s made. This year we have decided to install 180 solar panels on the roof of our production building ⚙️

👀 Here’s a quick peak behind the scenes! Right now, our production line runs 100% on solar power 8 months out of the year. That’s 240 days of stitching drysuits, vests, and thermals powered purely by the sun 🌞

Like so many people in our communities, I moved to the northwest because I fell in love with the rivers here. It’s been a hectic and exciting couple weeks getting this campaign off the ground and we’re only getting started, but it sure was nice to take a few hours off for myself to get out on the river this evening.

I’m running because I believe a bright future for our communities is possible. A future where both humans and nature can thrive, together, in healthy relationship. From the people I talk to, I’m pretty sure that’s what most people here want. If we work together, we can win that future. But it requires standing up to powerful interests and having the courage to believe in better. #bcgreens #terracebc #kitimat #northwestbc
