Happy Friday Tuan2 & Puan2!🫰😊 If you head over to the Bayfront Pavilion at Gardens by the Bay, you'll notice that the "trash sculpture" by Portuguese street artist Artur Bordalo of the Sumatran Tiger is gone. His brand new artwork, also made of garbage has taken its place, and it's called "New Life", featuring a mother orangutan🦧 & her baby anak 🦧 Meanwhile, over at IMBA, Yip Yew Chong is already halfway tru' his newest mural panel, which is called "Singapore, Revisited". The work will be completed this Sunday. So lai lai lai, come by IMBA to see him complete his painting this weekend! 🖌️🎨🖼️ #Jalan2 #lifeart #tgif @be.imba

Caught @yipyewchong 's live painting at IMBA this evening and I got an updated note from him for the year of 2026!! I like how I have a few versions of his notes whenever I see him around SG either while touching up his works or literally at his event. Such handwritings are truly the work of an artist!! I'll try to catch his live painting again on the last day to see the completed work (today is day one btw). But thank you Mr Yip, for letting history rewrite itself in such a cute and artistic way through your artwork for young Singaporeans like me to better visualize eras that I wasn't born in.

What role should art play in a community? This is a recurring question in contemporary art. Yip Yew Chong has responded by capturing the culture of his own community in Singapore's Chinatown. His characters welcome us, sharing stories of the neighborhood's past. We can even recognize the faces of real people who once walked these streets. 📍Singapore's Chinatown 🗓 Always #singaporeart #singaporemurals #Chinatownmurals #Chinatownart #chinatownsg
