We are back on the night time Run/Move clubs and we are heading to Brighton-Le-Sands! 🌸

It’s a flat 5km route where you can run, jog or walk then we can have a daylight savings dip in the ocean before we head over to DELICIOUS @yogurberryaustralia 🌸💓

Bring kiddies and dogs and friends… ALL welcome! We can’t wait to see you there!! 🌺💞🌸💛💓✨

This was the moment I nearly quit 🫠

Hyrox Perth. Flew 4.5 hours to race, and the sled push was only the second station. I hadn’t trained it. Figured I’d be fine.

By the fourth length my legs were jelly. The lactic acid was unreal. I could barely walk out of the roxzone to start the next run, and my head was asking: why did I fly all this way to put my body through this?

I finished anyway. But that station set my whole race back.

This time it’s different. 7 weeks out from Hyrox Melbourne, racing mixed doubles, and the sled is getting trained properly. 7am, before school drop-off.

Not elite. Just a dad who learned the hard way.

Reminiscing the lean physique and contest prep…

Who would have thought 4 weeks post show I’d be saying I miss prep, but there are definitely things I’m missing right now.

Reality has been tough, and post show it has been a mental battle.. I’m learning to be less hard on myself, and work through this season of chaos.

I hate being the guy that makes excuses, but this next chapter of my life is so important, and is taking a lot of my energy and time. At the moment those things that were my main priority for so long, have had to take a back seat.

I’m not where I want to be right now, and this isn’t how I planned to be coming off prep. I know I’ll get back to the place I want to be, but for now we’re focusing on building something fucking sick, something to be proud of for a long time to come.

Today we had the opportunity to visit the Juvenile Justice Centre. It was great spending time with the boys and connecting with the staff who do incredible work every day.

A special experience that will stay with us as we continue our journey towards Auckland. A reminder of why we do what we do and the importance of showing up for our youth.

Becoming a dad doesn’t end your dreams. It just puts a detour in the road.

The route’s longer. You train at 7am instead of whenever you feel like it. Some goals take a few extra years. But you still get there ✅

I didn’t stop being an athlete when I became a dad at 19. I just had to find a new way to get there.
