I missed crit. I missed going fast and ignoring my hr reading going into the red. I missed my race friends, and ice cream carb loading, and bike house life.

I’m so happy I decided to jump back in even though it’s the end of the season and I didn’t quite have the fast legs for it. I surprised myself with staying in, hitting new numbers, and always walking away with a smile. this old dog can at least maintain the old tricks.

forever thanks @theeabundanceproject for the continued race support. it was so fun to represent @teampeachcycling @giordanacycling in STL. thanks @incyclebicycles for keeping all my machines running this season. of course a million thank yous to my coach @_jrho0_ for figuring out a plan for my crazy schedule 🫶🏽

🔥🫀 NEW RIDER ALERT🫀🔥

In the words of Yuchen 😄 :

I think I am the most amateur racer in NYC women’s peloton. I remembered I had a hard time to finish a 30 mins commute with a flat bar hybrid bike from BK home to nursing school in 2019. And then I spent my entire Covid pandemic wearing Hazmat suit in Kings County Hospital ER.

No athletic background at all. Never played any sport in my life. The only fitness I carried over to biking are CPR 3 mins intervals and walking 10,000 plus steps in 12 hrs nursing jobs.

Your so-called couch potato but also not too couch. Healthcare is maybe an underrated endurance sport. 😆

Started racing bikes since early 2025.
I have finished at least 20 races this year and counting.

The Youtube channel @ylracego documents my journey of going to bike races as an absolute amateur. Some of you really enjoyed the content. Check it out sometimes, would you? 😉
