🎃Candy, costumes, and community fun! 🍬

Major N. Goodwin and Deputy T. Demiel had a boo-tiful time at the Suffolk Family YMCA Trunk or Treat, meeting all the ghosts, goblins, and superheroes who stopped by our unit for a sweet treat! 🚔👻 Thank you to everyone who came out and showed off their spook-tacular costumes. We’re happy to report that the only thing “stolen” that night was our hearts! ❤️

Sheriff D. Miles and Deputy G. Diggs even made a special cameo before the fun came to an end! We loved being part of such a fun-filled evening with our community. 🙌

Grateful to be able to help secure $500,000 for the YMCA to expand access to swim safety programs for our kids and families. In a community surrounded by water, every child deserves the chance to learn how to be safe and confident in the water.

What a great way to start our Tuesday morning!

This morning, our members came together at the YMCA of South Hampton Roads for another fantastic Morning Member Meetup!

These gatherings are all about building relationships, making meaningful connections and strengthening our regional business community. Whether reconnecting with familiar faces or meeting someone new, every conversation is an opportunity to grow your network and your business.

A big thank you to the YMCA of South Hampton Roads for hosting us and welcoming our members into your space! We appreciate all you do to support the health, wellness and well-being of our Hampton Roads community!

And thank you to everyone who joined us! We love seeing our business community come together and look forward to the next opportunity to connect at the Monster Mega Mixer on October 26!

The State of the Region is more than a look at the numbers, it’s an opportunity to better understand where Hampton Roads is today and what will shape our future.

Today, business and community leaders from across the region came together for the 2026 State of the Region, featuring research and analysis from Old Dominion University’s Dragas Center for Economic Analysis and Policy.

From our economy and defense spending to tourism, the Port, housing, early childhood education, arts and culture, and critical infrastructure, the program provided an important data-driven look at the opportunities across Hampton Roads.

Thank you to our speakers, Dr. Robert McNab, Dr. Barbara Blake, and Dr. Vinod Agarwal for providing the insight that helps our region’s leaders make informed decisions, identify opportunities and continue moving Hampton Roads forward.

And a special thank you to the sponsors and partners who made today’s important regional conversation possible:

Presenting Sponsor: Chartway Credit Union

Member Spotlight Sponsors: Norfolk State University and YMCA of South Hampton Roads

Gold Sponsors: HRSD, JPMorganChase, and Minus 9 to 5 at ODU

Health Literacy Partner: The Birdsong Health Literacy Center of Excellence

Supporting Sponsors: Dominion Energy, Portsmouth Economic Development, Virginia Arts Festival, Virginia Beach Convention Center and Virginia Natural Gas

Finally, thank you to everyone who joined us as we continue working together to strengthen the economic vitality and future of Hampton Roads.

October is bringing BIG opportunities to connect across Hampton Roads!

This month, we’re giving you two ways to grow your network: one Morning Member Meetup for meaningful conversations and new connections and one MONSTER Mega Mixer Business Showcase bringing professionals from across the region together for a huge night of Halloween themed networking.

Two events. A whole lot of connections. Let’s network, Hampton Roads!

Gem of a course and one of the few Par 3s that didn’t beat us up.

OBX golf is some of the best. 💎

Soooo excited for The Block Community Cafe to open!! This one is extra special to me because, through my role at the Y, I’ve had the opportunity to see the work and heart that have gone into bringing this idea to life. The best part? Our teens are powering the cafe, with proceeds supporting more opportunities for them to build leadership + life skills.

Go support The Block starting October 5, grab a drink, and show our teens some love! 🫶🏽☕️ #MochaswithMeg #YMCASHR @ymcashr
