NEW YORK OR NOWHERE • One of my favorite weeks of the year. When my girl and I slow down for a few days to celebrate our anniversary in one of our favorite places in the world.

I think we’ve been to this city 10+ times together, and it never disappoints. The food. The vibe. The creativity. It breathes life into us.

It’s a week of dates. Food. Coffee. Shopping. Nothing touristy. Just time together soaking in some of the most creative spaces in the world.

(And we ate GOOD this week. We’re tempted to create a private website with all our best food recs for friends)

And what’s been amazing along the way, is we forged a vacation friendship (something I feel is so hard to do… find friends you actually want to vacation with and don’t get sick of 😂). @mattmartin_96 & @jmar110 have become that friendship to us. 4+ years of of vacay travel. Life-giving friends to hang, relax and unwind with. The people we can talk ministry with… or not talk ministry at all. They’ve become our safe space to process everything life throws our way, or just laugh and eat. We’re so grateful for them.

And bonus this year - we got to link up with some of the most creative people we know. We love you @yoalexanderlee & @nesssuuhhh. You make everything more beautiful and more fun.

I truly believe we’re called to work hard. The ability and opportunity to work in a field you love is a gift from God. But I’ve been equally transformed by healthy rhythms of rest. I believe everyone needs people and space that breathes life into you.

On to our next stop tonight feeling refreshed and full of life, ready for all the Fall brings 🙏🏼

…and a huge Happy 22nd Anniversary to my beautiful bride. I want to keep dating you forever.

The best week with the best people 🏜️

There’s no space like the @leadingsecond Coaching Summit. This week, almost a hundred church leaders from across N America gathered for 3 full days of refreshing, renewal, and relationships. We laughed together, we cried together, and we are walking away different than how we came in.

Thank you to Pastors @brandonmstewart & @lindsayrstewart for having a vision for this space. We are honored to get to build L2 alongside of you.

Thank you to @_cheyenneboyd for all the hard work that went in to organize all the details and bring this event to life. Couldn’t be more proud of you.

Thank you to our serve team and Coaching Team for all the sacrifices you’ve made to serve second chair leaders. The Church is stronger because of your efforts.

We’re headed home with tired eyes but full hearts. Grateful for this tribe and all of the amazing people we get to do life with ❤️

THIS TEAM IS A DREAM.

The depth of leadership, skill and heart in this picture is only eclipsed by the fact that this is only a FRACTION of our team.

God has done a miracle at @leadingsecond in the past few years. He has surrounded Lindsay and I with some of the most brilliant leaders and serve team we could also for. Our team of coaches is deep, experienced, faithful and sacrificial. Our serve team volunteers (on top of their own ministry responsibilities) to serve church leaders around the world. And our staff team, albeit small but mighty, wakes up every day to keep inventing more ways to equip the body of Christ.

Linds and I were sitting after our Mastery Sessions event this past Thursday just in awe of the people God has brought around us.

So incredibly thankful.
