I had the honor of officiating the wedding of Laura & Martin who I met as photographers in the wedding industry. It was truly special to witness their journey from a first date at Chilean Independence Day to moving 4 houses together, travelling 5 countries, and caring for 4 cats. Wishing them a lifetime of love and happiness! 💍❤️

The Day of the Dead is a traditional Mexican celebration that honors deceased loved ones. It is primarily observed on November 1st and 2nd, coinciding with the Catholic holidays of All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day.

This festivity is a blend of indigenous Mesoamerican traditions and Catholic beliefs. It is believed that during these days, the spirits of the departed return to the world of the living to reunite with their loved ones. It is an opportunity to remember and celebrate the lives of those who have passed away.

During the Day of the Dead, various rituals and customs take place. One of the most well-known practices is the creation of altars or "ofrendas" in homes, adorned with photographs of the deceased, candles, flowers (especially marigolds), and food and drinks that they enjoyed. These altars serve as a gathering place and a sign of respect for the spirits of loved ones.

Another important custom is visiting cemeteries, where families clean and decorate the graves of their departed relatives. They bring flowers and offer prayers in their honor. Parades and processions are also held, where people dress up in colorful outfits and skull masks.

The Day of the Dead is a festive occasion rich in symbolism, particularly within Mexican culture. It is not a somber time but rather an opportunity to celebrate life and remember those who are no longer physically with us. It is a display of respect, love, and connection with our ancestors.

Mentally picture yourself radiant, strong, and full of life. See yourself moving upwards. Leave behind the darkness and confusion into an increasing brightness and loveliness. Allow clarity and peace to come in. See yourself progressing, growing and enjoying everything you want.
