I feel the warm embrace from the last rays of sun. It will be a cold night, but there will be stars tonight. I set camp, keeping in mind a good spot for the welcoming glimmer of the morning sun.

I have all that I need.

Not long after start roaming between breathtaking landscapes you begin questioning what you know. Logic becomes less obvious as you gradually fall in love with the environment. Striving to understand such beauty, I resolved to believe that I am currently walking towards the border of our dreams, where you think in verse and you yield to the pleasures of our imagination.

I’m a mere tourist, I do not forget it. The lands I’m currently visiting are for higher beings, whom are kind enough to let us see how they live. These souls are embedded in a lonely tree on top of a barley hill, in the morning dew from the sprouts of a swamp, running cheeky with a gust of wind at dusk. They are here, they are in the nature. I’m fascinated by the duality this country sometimes gives me. New Zealand is tame, it has no dangerous fauna, no poisonous flora, no extreme or violently changing weather in which you can get caught off guard and, subsequently, perish. It makes you think that you’re just roaming around on the insides of a beautiful biodome, often protected by a cloudy roof. But then night falls down and this ceiling opens up and becomes a window to another world: The very world of worlds, the Universe. You feel now like in the front seat of a colossal spacecraft, sailing at unimaginable speeds, embraced by the warmth from infinite sparks in the sky, blinded by the magnetic storms on the near horizon.

Is when we want to be disconnected from everyone we know, it’s in that exact moment, when we feel most synced with everything that exists in this beautiful spinning asteroid. taken in Masterton, New Zealand by @yonderdreaming

And so I left. Afraid to wander into the unknown, unprepared and skeptical about my decisions, I started this journey. I left the comfort, the predictable of the routine that I have been forging for nearly 3 decades.
Today I’m on the road, pushing my zone of comfort like never before. I’m glad about the decision I took, to take this trail that extents in front of me, vanishing into the mist.
